Naming April - Aphrodite’s Month

It is considered that April is the month of the growing season and when trees and flowers begin to “open”. It is also believed that the month’s name is named after the Greek goddess, Aphrodite (Aphros).

The radio show has provided an amazing opportunity to connect with like-minded up and coming artists in the industry - and has featured many top talents who have since gone on to achieve even greater heights. Der Kabelkraken

Ich habe ihn und seine Wirkung auf mich und meine psychische Gesundheit definitiv unterschätzt. So kann und darf es nicht weiter gehen ... Während mir diese Erkenntnis durch den Kopf schießt, sitze ich mitten in der Nacht, schweißgebadet, mit leicht zittrigen Händen in meinem Bett. Ich bin auf Entzug und die dadurch auftretenden Symptome machen mir Angst, stiften gleichzeitig aber auch Hoffnung. Vielleicht sollte ich die Geschichte jedoch von vorne erzählen, damit jeder meine Lage und meinen Weg dorthin versteht. 

Den Erstkontakt mit der Kabelkrake macht ich an meinem 12. Geburtstag. Meine Großeltern schenkten mir, primär für die Auto- und Busfahrten zur Schule einen MP3 Player mit Kopfhörern. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit gewöhnte ich mich an die akustische Mobilität und lernte die Vorzüge dieser handtellergroßen Gerätschaft kennen und schätzen. Ein paar Jahre später kam dann das erste Handy unter den Weihnachtsbaum, darauf folgten der erste eigene Computer und das Smartphone mit Touch Display. Parallel zur Expansion meines Technik Sortiments, stieg auch mein Bedarf an Komplementär Produkten, Apps und digitalen Helfern. So übernahm der Kabelkraken immer größere Aufgaben und Belange des alltäglichen Lebens. Er kümmerte sich um Orientierung und Routenplanung, um Finanzen, um Wissen und dessen Aufbewahrung, um soziale Kontakte und Kommunikation ... Die Liste ist schier unendlich lang. Letztendlich wurde der Kraken auch ein unverzichtbarer Bestandteil meines Freizeitlebens, versorgte mich mit Spaß, Ablenkung und Unterhaltung. Trotz all der Vorteile, bemerkte ich von Zeit zu Zeit, wie viel Aufmerksamkeit und Energie ich meiner Technik widmete. Manchmal erwischte ich mich beim mehr oder minder sinnlosen scrolling über die Startseite irgendeiner Social Media App. Langsam dämmerte mir, dass mein Verhältnis zur Kabelkrake an Maß und Mitte verlor. Endgültig davon überzeugte mich aber erst der Verlust meines Handys. Vom einen auf den anderen Tag ging es einfach nicht mehr an und so gut wie alle Daten gingen verloren. In Windeseile versuchte ich mir Ersatz zu organisieren, ungünstiger Weise kann das dauern ... 
Mittlerweile warte ich seit über einer Woche auf mein neues Smartphone. 
Ich vermisse das mobile chatten und die permanente Erreichbarkeit. Andererseits genieße ich die Zeit, die ich nun in andere Dinge investieren kann. Ganz davon abgesehen, dass der Großteil der Kabelkrake noch in meinem Zimmer sitzt und auf mich wartet. 
Ich habe realisiert, dass sich in meinem Leben etwas ändern muss. Technologie ist ein ständiger Begleiter geworden und macht das Leben in vielen Aspekten leichter. Wir geben Verantwortung für Bequemlichkeit ab. Ich versuche nun bewusster mit dem Kraken umzugehen. Einfach mal abschalten und liegen lassen. Manchmal fällt das schwer. Doch durch den Technik Detox lernt man die Vorzüge wieder mehr zu schätzen. Mir tut der bewusste Umgang auf jeden Fall gut! 
Ich lege den Stift beiseite und lasse mich nach hinten fallen. Jetzt werde ich entspannt einschlafen können, hoffentlich ...

Belgium’s Bigasti and Switzerland’s Floloco work in tandem to bring dreamy electronic music into the air with a narrative mix of both, deep and thriving elements. After years of experience in electronic music as individual artists, Gimérique unites the signature sound of two artists to a new chapter on their promising path in the electronic music scene.
It all started with a joint DJ set released on Schirmchendrink, which the two founded together. After several joint DJ sessions they felt it was about time to take the project to the next level.

With their first collaborative production in 2020, Gimérique took Lerr's 'Hummingbird' into deep and dreamy territory. Groovy and emotive in equal measure it made an auspicious production debut for Gimerique on Sound Avenue's first edition of their 'Re:Imagined‘ remix series. Gimérique's first original production 'Calm at Heart' was released in Spring 2020 on Harabe Recordings and explores a more ambient landscape of their sound. 'Calm at Heart" entered the Beatport 'Organic House' Top 100 charts within only few days.

Floloco and Bigasti individually are passionate about electronic music ever since they can remember.
