Timesaver is Xen Model’s third full length album and second release on the Causal Chain imprint. The 9-track LP stays true to the duo’s eccentric sound while delving into the introspective side of their productions. Club-focused head nodders “Pin Cycle”, “Face Forward”, and “Controller” accompany key tracks like “Arm’s Edge Reach” and “Grip Dial”, which channel the duo’s affinity for ambient music. “A Bright Star” spotlights a catchy guitar hook and features close collaborator 11ai. Xen Model’s signature play on halftime structure is engaged in bass-heavy cuts “Ripstream” and “Local Group”. The album comes to a close with a radio edit of their previously released track “Lurch”, which clusters the duo’s myriad styles and influences in an encapsulating statement of the Xen Model sound.

Systemic

Traditionally, knucklebones were used for divination by shamans around the world. They were also used for games of luck like Astragaloi in the Mediterranean or communal pass times like Shagai Kharakh in Mongolia. The sound they make when they are thrown is crisp and unpredictable due to their irregular form and density, so knucklebones were used to make percussive elements of music too. Scholars once used them for arithmetic and counting, bridging the practical and the creative. 

For me, Knucklebones is a tribute to my musical journey and the many people who’ve filled my mind with beats, breaks, and melodies along the way. It’s a way of looking back to find inspiration for what’s to come. It is a foray into the process of writing music that is unbound by my own creative restraints and provides release to the sounds locked away in my head. Many knuckles were satisfyingly cracked while writing this one, so I hope it provides some release to you too as you listen and dance.

With a handful of releases out on various pioneering imprints (including longplays RISC Chip and Meme Booth via Conditional Records or the latest contribution to the groove series by Warsaw based label outlines), the producer, programmer and live-coder Mike Hodnick is one of the leading figures representing a movement of computer-centred music production, recently labeled as algorave. Since we are devoted fans for quite some time, the Platonic's are proud to present Mike Hodnick´s latest project under the prolific Kindohm alias - 'Deserted / Reclaimed'.
Sequenced live on a drum machine, the diptych stretches across four vast sonic plains, bounded by curvy dunes formed by countless TidalCycles code bits, constantly pouring over like the grains of scorching and shiny sand. Full of paradoxical rhythm twists planted into the ever-bending landscape, Deserted / Reclaimed reads as a fragmented and sometimes petrifying ride towards the chaotic percepts of the monumental surroundings, dissolving in the thermal inversion somewhere far on the horizon.

Holyld is a young and hypersensitive producer from France. His sound is powerful, mystical, experimental and melodic like his universe is built on a medieval heroic fantasy story. 
After many months of loneliness in country dry landscapes without any stimulations, holyld makes Lore Synd. Borned on that fertile breeding ground for creation, it is a dark album made from hybrid contents where rythms are slowly mixing with harmony. 

He plays with sounds from Slavic and Scandinavian roots to neo futuristic, and takes us to his weird and unique universe. He shows us his vision of a alternative world with lights and calm. 

The album ends with two tracks arriving like a river after a long walk in the forest. Like dawn on a Iceland mountain.
