The Shapeshift Spaceship universe is transfuturistic. Being at the boundary of states is not an anomaly in this universe, but a starting point.

Shapeshifting is a method of applied radical imagination that, in the manner of afro- and other emancipatory -futurisms, uses the spatiotemporal immensity of the future and intergalactic distances to declare a transfuturistic universe free from conventional gender and taxonomic reasoning.

The central motif of the Shapeshift Spaceship project – emancipation through the transformation of one's own shape – has an age-old parallel in music: it too uses the principle of constant ephemeral change, rhythmed by repetition, to create its own elusively passing beauty with the extraordinary capacity to transform human emotions along with its own change. The possible maximum of this intoxication with music is a state of ecstatic rapture, a transformation directly experienced through the moving body, accompanied with the awareness of the expanded nature of existence as an indivisible continuum of all its interconnected parts.

The compilation is released as an editorial selection curated by Šimon Kadlčák in collaboration with MeetFactory and speedcoretrew.

The project was supported by the Prague City Hall, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Prague 5 and the State Culture Fund.

After actively performing for quite some time and steadily gaining recognition across the Czech music and art scene, the aspiring superstar unveiled her full-fledged producer abilities with the Jasmine Romance EP, self-released in early 2023. Having followed her rise closely since the days when she was a steady visitor at our earliest events, we at Gin&Platonic are reveling in this full-circle moment: the announcement of Lila’s debut longplay album — FATAL.
