Based in Los Angeles, ELEKT is an experienced DJ and music curator with over 15 years of professional performance experience. Known for seamlessly blending EDM, house, hip-hop, and Latin-inspired sounds, ELEKT creates high-energy sets that engage diverse audiences and elevate any event. Undisputedly the Philippines’ most popular DJ, MANOLET DARIO’s musical career spans over 40 years. His longevity in such a protean industry speaks for itself, but for a local “celebrity” scene that doesn't have many stars, Mano as he is known to his close friends, has achieved rare stardom, and continues to share the marquee with the biggest international DJs, at gigs both here and abroad.
 
Manolet has certainly earned his popularity. It was in 1979 that he first put his hand on the decks and he has not stopped since. Throughout the 80s and early 90s, he was in charge of music programming in some of Manila's leading bars and discotheques: Faces, Zu, Cats and Giraffe. In the next few years, he successfully revolutionized Manila nightlife by introducing the warehouse party concept that took the scene to a serious level of partying, with music-oriented “underground” parties that he organized along with other musical purveyors, called the Brady Bunch.
 
He founded the pioneering DJ event and promotions group called Natural Born Klubbers (NBK) in 1997 with his brother, event and talent manager Teddy Dario, and Ian Carless, to uplift the clubbing industry, which was still in a discotheque phase in terms of sound and atmosphere. The trio initially organized parties or “raves” featuring local DJs headlined by Manolet himself. Today, NBK is a word synonymous with lasting value and quality (www.facebook.com/NaturalBornKlubbers).
Favoring notoriety before fame, Manolet was also a regular fixture at the legendary, controversial and now defunct nightclubs ABG's and seveneightorange. He packed his gigs and the clubs to the streets each night, until the emergence of what we now know as the new club scene, where he continues to reign supreme.
Manolet has represented the Philippines in Zoukout 2003, and has played alongside Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Timo Maas, Sister Bliss, Dave Seaman, James Lavelle, Sasha, John Digweed, Miguel Migs, Steve Lawler, Danny Howells, and Anthony Pappa, Lee Burridge among others, as a crowd-drawer in his own right.
In November 2014, he warmed up for Ministry of Sound's DJ Santero at Volar, Hong Kong. This March 2015, he is a special guest DJ performer at the First Malasimbo Lights and Sound Show in Puerto Galera, Philippines.
 
You can catch him at 71Gramercy on Wednesday nights as he hosts his weekly “Electric Runway” parties and plays his unmistakable brand of music, and at Time Manila as a monthly resident DJ for “Replay.”
DJ Manolet's music is diverse, to say the least, ranging from deep and techy house all the way to techno, with distinctive funky and sexy beats that are unmistakably the DJ Manolet Dario signature! And if it’s a “hit,” he most likely played it first! He believes that a DJ's primary job is to entertain.
It must be said that Manolet never blows his own horn. His bravura, esteem, and ascendant following is proof that if you work hard and remain persistent, success follows you.
