Joe Smooth is one of the pioneers of the style of music known today as house music. He is a self-taught musician who, from the age of 12, has been creating music that is inspiring to all that his sound has touched. In 1985 he joined the DJ International family and quickly became a central force behind everything written or produced from the visionary label. He has worked with such artists as Frankie Knuckles, Marshal Jefferson, A Guy Called Gerald, Lil Louis, D'Bora, Tyree Cooper, Fast Eddie, Fingers Inc., The Art Of Noise, Sterling Void, The Pet Shop Boys, Brian Mc knight, Atlantic Starr, The Style Council, New Order, Steve Hurley... and the List Goes On.
At the age of 16, Joe Smooth began having house parties and djing throughout Chicago's underground music scene. At 18, he opened his first night club called east Hollywood Mannequins. In 1983, Joe began dj’ing at the famous Smart Bar nightclub and created an atmosphere and mystique that still lives today. In 1985, the Limelight contracted Joe for their Chicago nightclub as musical coordinator. In 1987, he also started working for the soulful Charlie club nightclub as head DJ/musical coordinator.
In 1988, with musical production work building and traveling abroad Joe Smooth left the club scene for a short break to put his concentration fully into his productions. Joe Smooth is the writer of one of the biggest and most covered house anthems of all time "Promised Land", followed by "They Want To Be Free" recorded for CNN as the soundtrack for Nelson Mendela's release. Joe Smooth has written and released over 150 songs worldwide and can be credited with the involvement of over 10,000,000 record sales. In 1990, Joe Smooth saw a need for a serious underground house club in Chicago and opened the Warehouse nightclub, named in tribute to the legendary Warehouse nightclub of the early eighties. 1995 Joe Smooth looking for new horizons ventured to Rome to work on a label idea with producer Claudio Donato “active bass music” distributed by the now dissolved flying records network. In response to flying's failing and lack of a strong distribution network Joe Smooth returned to Chicago and began searching out new talents to develop and begin his new venture “Obelisk Productions Multimedia”. Thru the nineties til present day   Joe Smooth has done extensive work with Slang Music Group and Nu Soul. Joe's work at Slang and Nu Soul would include projects featuring Whitney Houston, Omarion, Beyonce, Joe, Donnell Jones, Destiny's Child, Sisqo, Vivian Green, Amerie, R Kelly, Janet Jackson, Kanye West, Max-a-Million, Kelly Price, Saleena Johnson, Back Street Boys, Wyclef, Prince and Madonna to name a few.

DJ Abyss is one of the most innovative DJ’s to come out of Germany in the last 25 years. Although the Frankfurter born DJ’s career has predominantly been behind the scenes, he has managed to accomplish himself internationally as one of the first East German DJs, alongside fellow Dresdner DJ Hardsquencer alias Hardy Hard. Back in 1991 in Frankfurt (Oder) he co-founded the first East German techno club “KamithHall”. Months later together with the Berlin techno legend Kid Paul, he began hosting Space Admission. With packed resident DJ line-ups the club soon became famous nationwide and in 1992 thousands of people from surrounding cities attended. In December 1992 he showed his skills in foreseeing trends by regularly booking the then unknown DJ Paul van Dyk to play Space Admission, eventually giving him residency spot alongside with himself and Kid Paul. Six months later Jens Mahlstedt, also relatively unknown at the time, was added to the line-up. With the growing popularity of the 4 DJs Space Admission would soon become one of the country’s most famous party concepts. Unfortunately in 1995 after 3 years the club residency came to an end, due to the DJ’s fully booked schedules and numerous international appearances. From then on Space Admission took place intermittently. In 1992 Abyss had also already established the magazine Ten Dance and was heavily engaged in editorial work. Within a short time the magazine became one of the leading German electronic music magazines. In 1994 his quick rise as a DJ catapulted him into the top-ten most popular German DJs. After a brief period as host at Berlin Walfisch and Praxis Dr McCoy from mid 1993 to beginning of 1994, he opened the Frankfurter Margin. After the lease ran out at the Frankfurter location, in 1995 he opened the club Marginal Frontier in Guben and became resident DJ at Tresor, Berlin. In 1998 he went back to the studio and produced an album together with the Berliner DJ and producer Jay Ray. The first single from the album was released in 1999 on the Berlin label MFS. In 1999 Abyss went back to the studio to concentrate on his solo work. The following year he set up his own label Strike Records, then in 2001 a second label Alternate, plus the revival of the already founded in 1991 label Grooves Inc. In 2002 to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Ten Dance a live mix of Abyss was released at the legendary Sage Club, Berlin recorded on 09.12.2001. He was also responsible for the release of the “Best Of Ten Dance” CD compilation. Likewise in 2001, the tranquil producer released 7 Maxi singles, proving his musical versatility- ranging from Disco-House to Detroit Techno. The following year Abyss continued to widen his musical spectrum producing Minimal Tech-House tracks, releasing 6 records in 2002.

Francesco Casaburi (born 23 Settembre 1968 in Tuscany - Buonconvento) better known by his stage name Francesco Farfa is an Italian Dj and record producer.

Francesco Farfa started his work in 1985, he has been known as a vinyl DJ in the electronic clubbing scene since the early 90s. He identifies his music as “a journey through contemporary underground dance”. His technique has evolved over the years moving from vinyl, trying a digital approach and merging both instruments into a very personal identity. 

Today he blends the advantages of the "cutting" methodologies of the beginnings alternating them with very long experimental fusions that create personal sound constructions. The way his mind works on the mix is able to transform sound into a vision. He’s able to make even funk sound like a trance. 

Francesco brings people mind in a “circular sound” as a hypnotic musical storyteller.

He's mission is beyond trends, he doesn’t ignore them but processes them. It's not always the record that makes the difference, but the way you make it sound.

Few figures in contemporary music have influenced their respective fields the way Frankie Knuckles has revolutionized dance music.As one of the most renowned DJs in the world, Frankie Knuckles is still packing dance floors with his unique style for almost 30 years. Legions of admirers during his travels penned Frankies nickname The Godfather of House the press picked up on it and made it stick.

He has played a pivotal role in the creation and evolution of house music, which has become the dominant staple of dance clubs throughout the world. It was this celebrity and his constant fundraising for some of his favorite charities dealing with aids, homelessness, and education of our youth, that garnered him one of the most prestigious honors by the City Of Chicago.

On August 25th 2004, the Mayor of Chicago proclaimed the date Frankie Knuckles day, and a street naming Frankie Knuckles Way .As a Producer and Re-Mixer, Knuckles lent his talents to some of R&B and Pop musics elite. Artists such as Mary J. Blige, Sounds of Blackness, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Diana Ross, Luther Vandross, Michael Bolton and Toni Braxton. Frankies production and mixing career was officially recognized by the music industry in 1997.

He became the first recipient of a Grammy for Remixer of The Year and has served as a Governor and Trustee, for the NYC Chapter of The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.As an artist enjoying the success of two Virgin Records releases, Beyond The Mix and Welcome To The Real World . The first album included The Whistle Song which is most memorable as the Lipton Ice Tea commercial in the mid 90’s.

In 2001 Definity Records released the single Keep on Movin by Frankie Knuckles featuring vocalist Nicki Richards. The new song opened his Mix album Motivation and was the beginning of the collaboration between Knuckles and Richards 2004 A New Reality release. Billboard Magazine writes in the Album Reviews noteworthy section Knuckles strings together an inspirational and spiritual collection of gospel-infused club songs .

With critical acclaim from nearly every Electronic Dance and Club Culture magazine through out North America and Europe. Definity strategic crossover plan launched with a visibility campaign in Major Chains for Black History Month in February. Reviews in Vibe, Ebony, Black Beat, Essence, and BET made this Motivation album the first Def Mix Productions release to garner recognition with mainstream Afro American press.

Knuckles was back in the USA mainstream with his positive message. The launch of his Motivation world tour put Knuckles message again in the forefront on an International level and Knuckles realizes post 9/11 was a New Reality for him. In 2003 Knuckles released an exclusive mix album for Armani AX which also renewed his positive Message, and introduced the forthcoming studio album.He started digging through the vaults and writing, and came up with his first studio album to release in 7 years.

A New Reality released April 2004 in the USA, UK, Italy, Australia, and Japan simultaneously, and continues to receive media attention. Knuckles Launches his A New Reality” Tour on the heals of his Bac N da Day success around the globe. Bac N da Day is the first collaboration in 20 years with long time friend, House legend and co writer Jamie Principle. His second single Matter of Time features Nicki Richards, who is one of the most sought after vocalists in the USA. She works with everyone from Janet Jackson to Stevie Wonder. A breath of fresh air, Nicki is featured on half the album and is backed by some of the most amazing vocalists the business has to offer. She also sings with Will Downing who sings backing vocals for her on What’s Goin On .

Knuckles continues to use his celebrity and much of his spare time providing entertainment for various AIDS charity events. He supports anything that has to do with children, noted as saying I cannot stand to hear a child cry of want, hunger, or a lack of love . He has let his services for many past organizations, including Meals on Wheels, GMHC, Pediatric AIDS, and most recently Harvey Milk School.
