JUAN SOTO — Arquitecto de un sonido disco con
tintes electrónicos de una personalidad única  y alquimista de la pista de baile.
Desde el corazón palpitante de la Ciudad de México surge Juan Soto, un visionario de la música electrónica que ha hecho de la experimentación su bandera y del ritmo su lenguaje universal. Productor, cantante, DJ, letrista, compositor, locutor, y maestro, Soto lleva desde 2006 moldeando el pulso sonoro de una generación, desdibujando fronteras entre géneros, estilos y escenas.
Lo que comenzó como un acto de exploración independiente lo ha llevado a convertirse en una figura clave de la electrónica mexicana contemporánea. Ha dejado su huella como parte del dúo Moon Runner, la ambiciosa banda Supercontinent y el hipnótico y cautivante proyecto Destino Sonido, al lado de la joven promesa Labibe. Sus colaboraciones revelan su visión sin etiquetas: ha compartido créditos con nombres como Bufi, Dan Solo, Technicolor Fabrics, Future Feelings, Trans X, Zemmoa y Nomi Ruiz, entre otros, formando un universo sonoro en constante expansión.
Apasionado por el arte de compartir música, Juan Soto ha hecho vibrar las pistas de baile más emblemáticas de la capital mexicana —como el antiguo Club Social Rhodesia ahora Bar Oriente, M.N. Roy y Departamento Studio Bar— y ha traspasado fronteras con sets en espacios de culto como el mítico Hotel Costes en París y Moog en Barcelona. Cada presentación suya es un ritual sonoro, una narrativa electrónica donde convergen lo íntimo, lo experimental y lo eufórico.
No conforme con transformar escenarios, Soto también ha cultivado mentes. En 2014 fundó Karate Audio, academia pionera en producción musical independiente, que ha dado vida a más de 20 generaciones de artistas, entre los que destacan Wet Baes, Pahua, Paurro y Fausto. Su labor como mentor ha sido clave en el surgimiento de una nueva ola de talento latinoamericano que hoy resuena a nivel global.
Ha compartido cartel con figuras internacionales en festivales como EDC, Bahidorá, Ceremonia, Vive Latino, Trópico y hasta la Feria del Libro Infantil, donde sorprendió con una re-musicalización en vivo de The Cameraman (1928), homenajeando a Buster Keaton con una sensibilidad contemporánea que conecta el cine mudo con la electrónica del siglo XXI.
Juan Soto no sigue tendencias: las crea, las deconstruye y las reinterpreta. Su carrera es una invitación constante a escuchar con otros oídos, a mover el cuerpo y despertar la mente. Siempre en movimiento, siempre en evolución, es un artista que no teme explorar los márgenes del sonido para, desde ahí, reinventar el centro.

Influential Kansas City five piece, The Get Up Kids, returned in January 2011 with a new studio album, ‘There Are Rules’ – the band’s fifth full-length collection, and the first on their own Quality Hill Records imprint.  Seven years after what looked to be their final album ‘Guilt Show’, The Get Up Kids returned to the studio in 2009, sparked by a spur-of-the-moment decision to start writing songs together.  And so ‘There Are Rules’ came to be - twelve new songs that will prove to be both surprising, and familiar. The songs were all written spontaneously and then fleshed it out with long time producer Ed Rose in the studio, resulting in a collection of tracks that are fresh and inspired, created by a band that has been given new life and isn’t looking back. The first fruits of these new recordings was ‘Simple Science’, released in April 2010 - an EP that burst, unannounced, into the Billboard Top 200, followed by the first teaser for the album  - the 7” single ‘Automatic’, out early January 2011.  For the new recordings, The Get Up Kids started their own label – Quality Hill Records – naming it after a historic neighborhood in Kansas City, not far from where the band first formed.  And so, after touring across four continents to sold out crowds too many times to count, after becoming a crucial part of what has been called the “second wave of emo” in the 90’s along with bands like Braid and The Promise Ring and influencing a list of bands as long as your arm, after 15 years, 4 acclaimed studio albums, a collection of rarities, a live record, numerous 7"s and EPs, the Kansas City five piece – Matthew Pryor on vocals and guitar, Rob Pope on bass, Jim Suptic on guitars and vocals, James Dewees on keyboards and Ryan Pope on drums - unveiled ‘There Are Rules’ in 2011, proving that the final chapter for The Get Up Kids has yet to be written.
