Tripzinha 6 - April, April, der macht was er will

Under the Waxing Crescent moon we had the last "summery" Coven party in Berlin. The dance floor was full of beutiful smiles and bodies waving with the down beats at the Velvet Bar. 
That was the landscape I needed to trip again, and from that set was born a new Tripzinha.

OPAL est un festival autogéré où chaque festivalier.ère est bénévole et devient, de fait, acteur.trice du festival de ses rêves.
Ainsi, celà fait naître une émulation collective, une spontanéité éclatante et une folle communion baignées dans une bienveillance saine et équilibrée.

Cette année, le thème était "Le monde des enfants perdus" et j'avais pour mission d'assurer le "closing" officiel du festival et d'accompagner chaque enfant dans les bras de Morphée en beauté et douceur.

If you met me behind a booth playing some 128 bpm ass shakers, let me tell you how this all started. 
Tripzinha 1 was a recollection of my first endeavors on mixing music in a time when my resources were a computer with Virtual Dj, a mouse, and a USB sound card bought in a Späti that I used as a headphone cue. 
A lot changed but the essence was the intention. I've always liked to gift my friends with something related to music and from that point, I found a way to do it that was also much fun for me. Smoking a joint and mixing music was my favorite hobby when I came to Berlin and Cher knows it is still my favorite activity, but now not just a hobby anymore. 
OBRIGADA is a recollection of downtempo tracks that I’ve been finding in my digging for beautiful and groovy dance music. Some are B sides from records that you might have seen me playing already on a dance floor, and there are the ones found by chance in meaningful situations, which is my favorite digging methodology.
Most of all, this is how an introvert finds a way to express great gratitude for everyone who ever supported me and believed that we could together build the dance floor of our dreams.

Tripzinha 5 is a recording of a set played for family that brought myself to dimensions my consciousness hasn't visited yet. With the sun rising behind the olive trees, the fresh last minute summer breeze, and the smiling dance of beloved ones, I sang to the Orixás asking for protection, for mindfulness, for opening the paths, and so the music floated trough the decks.

Drawn to sunny House beats infused with polyrhythmic Latin American drums since his early rave days, GIO digs through 1990s records to uncover productions that resonate with his roots. He shines on queer crowds and open-air dance floors, blending classic House with contemporary Latinx tunes to create refreshing and varied dance experiences. Since 2021, he's been organizing parties in Berlin, including Coven, a standout event celebrating queer Latin American culture through music and dance. His productions have been released on labels like U’re Guay Records (UY), Vigor Trax (MX), Tandera Records (BR), and House of Others (ESP).
