It was so much fun playing this set for the wonderful folk at the first edition of the Celestial Festival :) Unlike a usual build-up to a set, since I was handed the room with great energy, I felt that momentum needed to continue for just a little longer before I took things down the trippy rabbit hole that I love to wander....a journey I hope you enjoy as much as I did ;)

A lil something about the Celestial Festival and the amazing work they did:

This festival was curated to celebrate the Asian Diasporic community by amplifying our stories and voices by platforming up-and-coming talents from our community in this event. Their goal was to highlight the diverse Asian cultures through music, sound, taste, and visuals in the celebration of the Lunar New Year.
If this year has taught us anything, it is that the Asian Diasporic community is still misunderstood, misrepresented (by the mainstream media), exotified, and marginalized. In Germany specifically, there is a lack of awareness as to how diverse Asian identities and cultures are. The Lunar New Year festival is one step in providing a space for pop music and interdisciplinary art practices to bring the Asian diaspora together, raise awareness of diverse identities, and strengthen solidarity across communities (within and outside of the Asian Diasporic identity)."

Pooja B (she/her), an Indian artist now in Berlin, shapes her sound with techno as a skittish exploration of time and space in a Dystopian world. Influenced by Berlin's music since 2016, her signature style combines futuristic, loopy, industrial sounds for dark clubs with adaptability for outdoor spaces. A former Analog Room resident in Dubai, where she had a flight-attendant job, she embraces the alias "ikigai" to release music, embodying the Japanese concept of a "reason for being" centered on making people dance. Her art also addresses racism, sexism, and environmental issues.

Pooja B (she/her) is an Indian artist who is now based in Berlin. Her sound was heavily influenced by the music she heard here when she first visited the city back in 2016. Her idea of techno is a skittish exploration of time and space in this Dystopian world. While futuristic, loopy, industrial sounds for dark clubs are her signature style, she can skillfully adapt to play music for outdoor spaces which still have a sprinkling of her special flavor.

She has been a resident at Analog Room a weekly underground party with a cult following in Dubai, where she was based because of her flight-attendant job. She also held residencies at Warped & Electric Days prior to this, also in Dubai.

Pooja B releases her music under the alias “ikigai”. Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means "a reason for being". Her reason for being is to make people dance :) She also takes a firm stand against racism, sexism & environmental issues, which she expresses via her music.

Luckily things felt very comfortable from the first beat and time just flew by - what a night. I was also very happy to play longer than planned!"

This was my debut at Tresor from December last year, when I was closing the night with a lot of nerves, but even more friends were there supporting me for New Faces, hosted by Cecilia Tosh, who has been my techno older sister of sorts. It went way better than it did in my head, haha. I have been meaning to post it for a while, and though my sound is slightly different at the moment, this has various facets of techno and mannnny tracks I still love and play. I finally feel like I'm a better Dj than I ever was, the growth in the last 6 months musically but also emotionally has been monumental. I'm so thankful for all the inspiration from friends who are phenomenal artists as well as for the opportunities I've been presented with. For all those who are miserable with anxiety and self-doubt, be kind to yourself and you will see miracles happen in how you feel about your craft. I hope you enjoy this special gift from my heart to yours!

Italy born producer and modular synthesist David Castellani is an aficionado in all things modular with a focus on driving, contemporary techno. His sound, fuelled by an array of analog hardware, showcases the intricate aspects of modern music production, while staying true to the fundamentals. 

Having formerly cut his teeth in a DJ/Producer duo, David has already built a category of healthy releases, collaborations and remixes, while sharing the decks with industry heavies including Nastia, Mark Broom, Dense & Pika & Vril, to name a few. 

Now based in LA by way of Chicago, Castellani launched his record label Noetic in 2021, cultivating smart & dynamic techno with a focus on synthesizers and analog hardware. The label has curated eleven releases from Castellani so far, featuring remixes from Redshape, Matrixxman, Voiski & Etapp Kyle. 

Castellani’s journey in music has been marked by two guiding principles – passion and learning, including exploration of world cultures. He uses the didgeridoo, part of ancient First Nation Australian culture which he respectfully acknowledges, in his live sets. He was taught drums by respected Afro Cuban percussionist Juma Santos, who featured on the legendary Miles Davis album ‘Bitches Brew’. The experience of working with Santos has stayed with him till this day. 

“It was one of the most vivid memories of my youth. We just spent hours playing drums together and then we’d indulge in some cannabis while Juma would share stories about hanging out with Miles Davis in the 70's. I was about 17 and remember travelling home, thinking how excited I was to start this new journey in music. And most of all, this helped me understand the value of education via a proper teacher within music.” 

Castellani would go on to be an educator himself, thriving as a teacher at Chicago’s respected Columbia College, where he’d teach for almost a decade. His passion for educating is something that stays with him till this day, involved in running modular synth workshops in LA in collaboration with the RE/FORM crew, with whom he holds a residency. He also volunteers with the Jazz Angels, an outreach program that sees him go into schools and help children record and learn about music. 

His passion and curiosity for all things learning, creativity and technological development has seen him create his own sequencer module, the Precision Disrupter. His background in graphic design also sees a collaboration with clothing brand After Infinite, responsible for designing all their rave wear garments. 

A magnetic live performer, recent highlights include a special 360-degree audio-visual performance in LA alongside Colin Benders and ONYVAA; a coveted spot playing Chicago’s Arc Festival and the release of his collaborative project ‘Hysteria Dichotic’ with AnnMarie Arcuri, which combined techno, contemporary dance, modular synthesis and film. 

Castellani wishes to acknowledge that First Nations Australians are the traditional owners of the didgeridoo, a wind instrument he uses in his live sets. He pays his respects to all First Nations people.

Helmut Geier’s career in music is just about as long as they come, starting out a DJ freshman back in 1978 and witnessing numerous of the most notable revolutions in sound and politics to have changed the world since. So many of electronic’s foremost names, like cult Berlin record dispensary Hard Wax, or Tresor and E-Werk where he held residencies, or even Limelight in New York, all bear his mark to some degree or other. Then there’s his releases, collaborations and remixes, and forays into the world of fashion, numerous enough they’d take a while to tally. His formula for longevity has been a chameleon-like ability to stay tapped into the zeitgeist and guide its course, International Deejay Gigolo Records has been a permanent conduit for the mission, his early championing of the electroclash genre and work with talents like Ms. Kittin, Laurent Garnier and Vitalic another notable moment in the last half century. One thing’s for certain: DJ Hell’s not planning on going anywhere; his work’s at times anthemic, at times high camp, but constantly pulling from a lifetime of references both past and new and creating something new from the embers. Bassiani Podcast 240 is a very special live recording from Hell’s set at Bassiani’s Time Passages night back on September 27th, a three hour instalment heavy with 80s synthwork, vocoder frequencies and pounding bass. Yet another watermark from a cultural legend.

Psychotherapist by day, mind-hacker by night, here comes Leipzig’s Vincent Neumann with two hours of widely versatile techno and electronics. All in jagged dynamics and hi-NRG propulsion, Neumann’s mix is an ode to old-school raving, back when the DJ’s name was of no importance but the flow of the music itself was all that mattered, or when the true spirit of techno rhymed with riotous communion and a new horizon of possibilities, not some ultra fast-fashion side issue. The result is a fiery jaunt across some of those balls-out anthems old and new that got people converging from all around the country onto secret places, eager to let the socio-political frustration of their age out, regardless of how the norm thought of them. Artist bio : 
Vkn.modular is a techno producer and DJ, born in Guadeloupe and now based in the south of France.
His music takes shape between the analog and digital worlds, standing out for its raw energy, intense emotions, dark, hypnotic, and dynamic sounds.
Vkn.modular has recently produced tracks for labels such as Splatter and Planet Rhythm.
His tracks have been played by Kaiserdisco on the KDR141 - KD Music Radio show, as well as by Léa Occhi on HATE Podcast 422, to name just a few.

Vkn.modular builds his sets by playing with spontaneity and the energy of the moment. However, he places great importance on structure, refining his sets to give them a strong narrative and coherence.
Inspired by the sounds and aesthetics of the old school, he brings a modern approach by incorporating evolving textures and deep atmospheres.
For him, techno is a bridge between tradition and innovation, where the raw energy of the early days meets an advanced sonic exploration, always looking toward the future.

Biography+links:
A.Denial - also known as Anastasiia, who started her career as a DJ in 2008. Her journey began with underground techno & breakbeat in the techno-club "Tunnel".
Since then, she has made a long way through out diverse electronic music genres and after her long journey In 2019, she created her own events series called Sacred Sound Events, which is built around the underground and hypnotic side of electronic music. 

In 2024 she created a new project “Unknown Source” which transforms unknown incoming signals from deep space into hypnotic waves and fast rhythms, with the debut release “Signals”. 

In recent years, she has released her first tracks on Nnullz rec, Wetland rec, Linee Sonore and Dorian. In 2025, A.Denial released her debut album on Diffuse Reality Records, which is called "Life Story". The latest release came out in May, on a compilation by the Art Bei Ton label.

Now A.Denial is focused on her “home” studio, where she continues to work on her own sound and future releases.
