Having begun their journey as DJ’s and producers last year, Ibiza’s infamous Mambo Brothers are set to catapult themselves into the limelight with their debut release ‘Momento’ that lands via Toolroom on March 24th.

Kicking things off with a fierce percussive beat - ‘Momento’ quickly hits it’s stride. Laced with orchestral elements and faint echoing vocals, the track briefly winds down before building to it’s main crescendo. Perfecting the big room sound for clubs and festivals around the world, the brothers have proven their production ability is just as formidable as their prowess behind the decks. Texas Recordings Underground, or TRU, is the brainchild of Gavin Guthrie, the talented Dallas based DJ/Producer "TX Connect". It' ll be focused solely on fellow artists from the gigantic state (2,5X the size of France...), "from the border of Mexico all the way up to the panhandle" with a wide-open music policy : "Anything from house, techno, acid, electro to ambient, funk, industrial, synth pop, etc. If it's good, it's good and you'll hear it." First outing there is a five tracker various artist. The track premiered features Gerard Hanson who has long been one of the electro scene's most notable talents. Suitably known as "Convextion" for the laymans, he has a real cult following among the experts under his "ERP" moniker, being one of the very few producers (you can count them on two hands) alongside The Exaltics, Stingray or Dopplereffekt  that manages to keep alive a style whose redundancy leaded to a certain decay.  Enjoy this beauty that should be out within few days !

We are very excited to present you the new release on our label: Boorane - Thru Jazz to Mars EP!
Although it's the very first EP of the project, these guys can hardly be called newcomers. Boorane members already have the street credibility and style with the strong roots and skills in b-boying and djing, dating back to early 2000s, and can easily teach us a thing or two about the art of digging, beats programming, real swing and texture. With previous releases on King Underground Records, Boora is recognized as the father of Russian boom bap scene, no less.

Together with his good friend and long-time collaborator on all fronts Krane, they came up with this work of beauty and depth.

Soulful hip-hop beats meet heavily swung house, sophisticated techno and a nice slice of timeless electro, all based on obscure Soviet samples & excerpts from long-forgotten scientific movies and documentaries, chopped drum breaks and complex groovy programming - All created with the classic hip-hop set of tools: Akai MPC 3000 and E-Mu SP-1200.

On the metaphorical side of things Boorane is the clear reference to Buran - the legendary Soviet space program and the eponymous space shuttle! Beyond the mere name - the EP is loaded with sounds, related to the space exploration, including the shuttle engine start at the very beginning of this special musical journey, leading us to straight into space with a reassuring hip-hop beat.

Boorane's music has the capacity to work on so many levels. Being down to earth and clearly physical on the one hand, with the heavy grainy beats and gritty textures that are ready to shake the dancefloors, their music has an unmistakable timeless touch, yielding high aspirations and thoughts about space and time.

The vivid example is Find The Way which is a collaboration with the label boss Lay-Far - is a real pacifist manifesto - with its reassuring thoughts about the future of the world - Love has got to find the way and step by step are the phrases effectively repeated as mantras throughout the track, making us believe the prospect is just inevitable!

Being influenced by the wide range of musicians, like Theo Parrish, Atjazz, Miles Davis, James Brown, Pete Rock, Dj Premier and notably Soviet jazz scene i.e. Mustafa Zade, Georgiy Garaniyan or Aleksey Kucenko, Boora and Krane find the way to make their deeply-rooted music instantly catchy and likeable, at the same time bringing something unique and refreshing to the scene. Bristol duo Outboxx return after a 12-month hiatus with their trademark low-slung house sounds, and another collaboration with vocalist and lyricist, Naomi Jeremy.  With previous releases on fellow West Country labels Futureboogie and Idle Hands, Outboxx debut here on Hypercolour, completing their Bristol label hat trick.  Sealing the release is a remix from Detroit’s Andrés, the prolific producer behind multiple releases on La Vida and Kenny Dixon Jnr’s Mahogani Music and KDJ labels.

The Original mix of ‘Rumours’ opens proceedings with a firm reminder of the production quality that Outboxx so clearly posses; with a slugged out beat, spaceship pads and the vocal prowess of Naomi Jeremy, we have here a fitting track to keep the embers of summer burning bright.  The signature sound of remixer Andrés is stamped all over his version as he gently adjusts elements of the original, putting a greater focus on the scintillating pads and offering a beach-side alternative to the more melodic Original Mix.

A second original production from the duo, ‘So Strong’ provides a cool end to a coherent release, with well-poised keys combined with finely crafted ambient tones to provide a worthy contrast to the accompanying tracks.

S.A.M. returns to his Delpahine imprint next week (Monday 30th January) with the 12” version of ‘Out Of Touch’. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of it below.

Real name Samuel André Madsen, S.A.M.’s debut album, ‘Dream State Of A Bellmaker’, lands next month (February), and he’s releasing a number of 12” versions of tracks from it that shift the attention back towards the dancefloor.

Speaking to DJ Mag about the rework of ‘Out Of Touch’, Madsen said, “I basically wanted to take two of the more DJ friendly tracks from the album and put them on a single 12”.

“But I had a wish to make it unique by deconstructing ‘Out Of Touch’, making it more uplifting and giving it a stronger beat-driven character than the album version of the track.”

The composition is made for a compilation on Life And Death, focusing on the types of music, which the artists on that record usually don`t produce. I was recording that track during a late night chilling with my friends. The bell sounds were recorded from the glasses with cold drinks we were having that night. You need a good bass response on your soundsystem, to fully enjoy the track.

Cosmic Force returns to Something Happening Somewhere for an all-out ghetto affair in collaboration with the mighty Dexter. Four relentless and unpretentious dance floor cuts with a high energy high fun(k) factor. It’s as high of a dose of the magical alchemy between man and derailing machines as you can find. Every second of this record feels like entering an unknown dangerous zone, blink once and someone could sweep out the motherboard beneath you and turn everything inside out. A robot’s brain disintegrating while you’re still plugged inside racing through it as everything slowly falls apart, without the safety programs to protect you. The great digital escape part II.

Drum Techniek is like taking a LCD drumbeat mixed in a blender with some vitalising capacitor hallucinogens. If the undeniable groove of the first one and a half minute isn’t enough, a jaw shattering bass line creates even more bad ass vigour. Geheugen Meuk’s unstoppable energy train is fuelled by a hypnotising stomping bass line that is intersected by warbled dystopian chords. Lost in the transistor mind, the memory chip slowly starts emitting smoke and shape shifts beyond the point of recognition. Leaving the gates open for uncontrollable off script imagination to reign.

Sloppenwijkkont takes the same approach as Geheugen Meuk but adds a more defined West Coast flavour. Baslijn In Opstand does exactly what it says on the can, like the electronic music interface decided to stop obeying and took over the controls to produce the music it favours. All this music is not for the faint hearted but will prove an incredible addition to anyones dance floor arsenal for those moments which need some extra psycholetric firepower.
