Radio Slave announces Rekids Special Projects ‘Actualize’ compilation and DJ mix - Part 1 will be released in January, with Part 2 to follow in February 2023.

Rekids Special Projects, the no-nonsense techno-focused sub-label of Radio Slave, aka Matt Edwards’ Rekids, launched in 2017 and has since released music from the likes of Mark Broom, Luke Hess, Jon Hester, and more. For the 50th release, Edwards readies ‘Actualize’, bringing acts from the wider Rekids universe into one slick collection, with the first part arriving this January alongside a DJ mix of the tracks.

“The original concept was a vinyl-only offshoot of Rekids, focusing on techno and a home for our extended family of artists. We’re now working with so many new and exciting young artists, such as Confidential Recipe and the incredible Theo Nasa, and Rekids Special Projects is a rock-solid platform to shout about good quality club-focused techno music. Reaching the 50th release is a real milestone for the label, and I’m incredibly proud and excited to be able to start the year with this huge compilation!” - Radio Slave

“I had no idea how big this project would become when I started planning the ‘Actualize’ compilation back in October. With 28 tracks, I decided to split the comp into 2 parts, and it also gave me and some of the other artists featured here a chance to finish their tracks. I’m super happy with ‘Actualize’, and it’s a great honour to have guest artists such as Slam and Ian Pooley’s Silvershower project on RSPX.” - Radio Slave

The mutable nature of our lives leads to a constant pursuit of musical incentives. Last month we launched a new series on MindTrip aiming to bring together diverse sounds and musical backgrounds under a mutual project.

Mutable Minds edition II welcomes the very exceptional work from five of our favorite artists out there. The release opens with our head honcho Pfirter and his Anti-Routine that comes with his trademark modular effect and a well-constructed sequence. Sleepwalker belongs to Mexico’s finest techno export aka Fixeer who delivered a pounding track with great energy.

On the B-side things are getting deeper and more tripped out yet still powerful and intense with the Swedish duo Kuf & Dold and their track Mint. Mutual Minds II closes with a familiar name that is none other than Jonas Kopp who returns to MindTrip with a very interesting piece that comprises a narcotic feeling and space stabs.

The final outcome of the second Mutable Minds edition perfectly describes the musical perspective and ethos on MindTrip. Hope you enjoy this trip to the fullest.

Kuf & Dold - Mint [MT19]

Spektre are back on home turf once again, with a sinister two-tracker.

'Carnival Of Souls' sets the scene with the relentless bang of their trademark heavy kick drum. Opening with a dark and eerie atmosphere that appropriately matches the title, the lead synths develop into uplifting euphoria, as the tracks mood transforms in the breakdown.

Second of the two original tracks 'Land Of Strays' has a building tension with fluttering synths. The powerful vocal also lifts the track and provides great contrast with the growling tones of the ominous bassline. Undeniably a peak time cut of dancefloor focused techno, this is a spark to light anyone's fire.

Track three is SAMA's remix of 'Carnival Of Souls' which is a refined version of the original with the addition of his own grinding bass stabs and thinned kick drum to allow more focus on the synth parts. Keeping all of the originals energy, it has all of the same charm but with added depth for those who like things a touch deeper.

Finishing the EP is D-Unity's remix of 'Land Of Strays' and stripping away many of the originals synths it's a percussion lead alternate version. Using the vocal and only short bursts of synths, this darker version has more ferocity to it, and will no doubt be a favourite with those who play a harder style of techno.
