Blessed is the third installment of preview EP's to the Sizzla album 'Born A King' produced by Mista Savona, coming out everywhere on May 6th 2014. Blessed is an instant dancehall anthem, with its driving rhythms and seamless blending of bhangra, dancehall and hip-hop elements. One of the first songs recorded for the album, Blessed is Sizzla at his most inspired and defiant. It is a war-cry for the poor and oppressed in Jamaica, as he calls on both the young and old to stand up and 'make ya life better' - encouraging his Jamaican ghetto community to stay positive, work hard and find a way out of poverty and 'sufferation'.

This remix EP pack features 9 remixes, starting with a kickin' House remix by I Said No that is receiving support from Sister Bliss on Ministry Of Sound, as well as from Basement Jaxx who are playing it on their current tour. Bass music fans will love the Son Of Kick remix, which has already been tweeted about by DJ Craze, as well as receiving accolades from Bassnectar, Two Fresh, JSTJR, DJ Vadim and AWE (to name a few). Deejay Theory was recently touted by DoAndroidsDance as the next best thing to listen to for fans of Major Lazer and his remix is evidence why. Australian producer Ptero Stylus brings a hypnotic rolling Moombahton vibe, and bass heads will be loving the remixes by Andreilien and David Starfire, who both take the tune into Glitch Hop and Dubstep territory. Dimond Saints out of Oakland have been receiving rave reviews from Future-bass blogs including Earmilk, TILT, I Want DM, Break On A Cloud etc. and their remix here is a testament to their fresh new sound. The Junglist massive have been following this remix series with glee, and we've kept that ball rolling with a jaw-dropping remix from Benny Page. The EP ends beautifully with one of our favourite remixes so far, an ever so solid Hip-Hop version by Australian producer Monkeymarc , that nails the vibe of the original, adding a lazy swing and dirty lo-fi edge.

To give some background on this project, whilst on tour in Australia we met Mista Savona, a Melbourne based producer who had just returned from Jamaica with a bag of new riddims and an almost-completed album with legendary reggae artist Sizzla. We listened to the tunes and loved the fresh new sounds and very positive feel of the album, with its uplifting messages and inspired vocal performances. Muti Music has been releasing a series of Remix EP's as we lead up to the album's May 2014 release, featuring producers at the leading edge of dance music globally. These have been receiving rave reviews across the Blogosphere, play on BBC, XFM, Sirius and numerous other internet and FM stations, as well as reviews in high profile magazines like DJMAG.

Seanie T is a true veteran of the UK music scene with a jaw dropping discography featuring some of the most important releases in the history of UK Hip-Hop. Consistently tearing up tracks with collaborators such as Roots Manuva, Blak Twang, Rodney P and Estelle, his inimitable vocal style of hip-hop dancehall fusion has won him critical acclaim amongst fans and peers alike. Growing up in the depths of East London, Seanie was drawn in to the world of reggae sound systems at a very early age. As a youth he followed sounds like Saxon, Coxon and Unity, and DJed with the Ragga Twins on a sound called Unity Hi Power out of North London. A featured vocalist on both Roots Manuva and Blak Twang's debut albums, "Brand New Second Hand" and "Dettwork SouthEast" arguably 2 blueprints for much to follow in UK Hip Hop, he released his debut single "S.O.S (Same Old Sean) in 2001, followed by his legendary "Dark Horizons" mixtapes which featured the cream of UK hip hop artists at the time.


"Ruff, Rugged and Smooth" is a brand new album that unites all of his past influences and styles and pushes them into the future. Produced in full by Hamburg based DJ Suro, the album touches on elements of roots reggae, dancehall, bashment, soul and pop, all with that unmistakable hip hop swagger. As the title suggests, there's moments of rough reality, elements of rugged rawness and enough smooth reflection to keep everyone entertained. Kicking off with "Get Hustling", a familiar vocal sample sets up Seanie to set out his manifesto perfectly. Lead single "Warning" is a tag-team takedown with his old sparring partner Roots Manuva, with the duo trading devastating bars, whilst "The Bird" ups the tempo for a party time banger, compete with dance moves. "More To This" is a statement on the current state of image hungry MCs, with "Mad Dem" providing more party vibes and some deft turntable skills from Suro.


"Plush" shows a softer side to proceedings with a tribute to the fine female form, whilst "Blaze Fire Bun' finds Seanie teaming up with UK don Serocee for another call to arms on a Timbaland sounding beat. Pitching for the Guiness World Record of number of UK MCs on a track, "Veterans" lines up a hot verse from 19(!) vocalists such as Rodney P, Ty, Ragga Twins, Navigator and Hill St Soul amongst many other legends (count them!) - never before has this many UK artists collaborated on one track. Following this up is "UK Warriors" finding Seanie riding solo once again, but hailing up his UK comrades. Things gradually get smoother as we find Seanie in full gentleman mode on the lush "Dancefloor", before showing his love for "Weed" alongside Jamaican legend Chezidek. As we come to a close, the smooth reggae vibes of "Acceptable" ring out the album in perfect style, featuring the smooth vocals of more JA vocalists Little Hero & PZ.

Already sounding like a modern classic - never retro, but respectful of its roots whilst keeping it fresh and always keeping it Ruff, Rugged and Smooth.

When Gisto made his first journey to the Fatherland of Reggae Music: Jamaica. He arrived with no hotel, no contacts and no idea what he would find there – just a desire to connect with the music and culture that influenced his life. Within about two weeks on the island, Gisto went from a stranger to a recognized musical personality on Jamaican television.

Upon arrival his first step was to catch a taxi. He played his album “Just the Beginning” for the taxi man named Pretty. ‘Pretty’ quickly recognized Gisto’s talent as a singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He introduced him to the Jamaican born artist DreZee with hope that Gisto would find his musical footing on an otherwise difficult island to navigate. After a half hour of showcasing his beats and music in Dre’s studio, Gisto was invited to stay-on. Within a week the artists had done a number of collaborations and shot videos. Dre then introduced Gisto to the rest of Jamaica thru the debut of their video for “Invincible” on HYPE TV. From that point Gisto’s fate was sealed. He was now recognized on the same level as the artists that have influenced his music for years.

However, Gisto is more than a Reggae artist/producer. He is changing the sound of music one song at a time. By combining the sounds of Reggae, Dancehall, Trap, and Hip Hop along with his smooth one of a kind vocal styling, he creates a sound that is uniquely his own. One fan said that it’s easy to fall in love with his relatable songs that speak to personal and worldly matters. Many fans have claimed that once a Gisto CD is played it stays in rotation until it skips or is stolen.

A creative youngster from London,Ontario, Gisto had an early dedication to music, studying jazz and contemporary guitar styles. He was a member of the Jazz band throughout his high school days, and enjoyed singing and playing guitar with several bar bands during his youth. To further enhance his musical career, he enrolled in the music program at British Columbia’s Selkirk College. While there, he continued performing locally with members of ‘Kangaroo’, a band with London, Ontario origins. He took pleasure in forming spin-off groups and performing as a solo artist.

After years on the road as a performer and the musical director for the successful underground band ‘Wassabi Collective’, Gisto has honed his skills and is moving in his own direction. He is currently in the prime of his writing/producing career, having recent collaborations with Lutan Fyah and Marky Lyrical. The Wassabi Collective band has been featured on the PBS series RoadTrip Nation. They were the #1 Band in Relix Magazine’s ‘On the Verge’. They were awarded a People’s Choice Award at the Independent Music Awards and won 4 Toronto Exclusive Magazine Provincial Awards. Their second full-length studio record, “Get It”, received the 2010 Urban/Dance Recording of the year honour from BCIMA. Their “Stories Not Forgotten” won Album of the Year in 2008. Wassabi Collective captivated large crowds as they took to the stage at Whistler BC during the 2010 Winter Olympics. The band has shared the stage with Damian Marley, Lee Scratch Perry, Bedouin Soundclash, K’ Naan, Michael Franti & Spearhead, K-OS, Femi Kuti, Hot Hot Heat, Randy Bachman, Bassnectar and Adham Shaikh.
