In this composition I experimented a reduced number of tracks, thanks to some sound patches which sound very big, like the brass-synths of the Hype Synthesizer.

I used two guitars, the Strat and the half hollow body, Italian made Jacaranda, which has a Telecaster shape and features a warm big single coil pick-up on the neck with sound creamy and lively.

The drums come from the stock instrument samples provided by the MPC bundle.

Cuando escribí Primavera en el 2017 pensé que debería tener un son, como parte de mi identidad como artista cubano. Pensaba mientras escribia esta canción en mis colegas de generación (algo recurrente desde entonces) Pensaba en lo duro de esta carrera. Encontrar algo en uno, darle forma, entregarlo, despojarse. Esa canción salió impregnada de ese ímpetu, de decir la verdad y entregar todo.

Quiero dejar un mensaje encerrado en la botella a la deriva. Que lo lean si mañana nos maltrata la corriente de la Vida.

Tobias Alfonso es un cantautor, multi-instrumentista y productor cubano. Su música funge de crossover entre el R&B/Soul y la canción Folk-Rock, pasando a través de los géneros de la Música Cubana y con una marcada influencia de las tendencias actuales del Hip-Hop y el EDM. I said Journey was the last release of the year, but I lied. I was digging through "the vault" and I found this track, decided to remake it. This is the original version of Lost in a Labyrinth of Neon and the concept is basically what my idea of a night in Tokyo would sound like. My grandfather was Japanese as well, so this is my homage to him. He passed when I was 17. 

This doesn't sound like the synthwave I always do, feels more like a club track, but retro. Enjoy!
