This week Spin City Show that aired on myhouseradio.fm 18th April 2021 saw the return of The Funk District and his Bi-Monthly Hot Sauce Show. TFD brings you the very best of Mexican talent on his show and this week he invited the unbelievable Oman Berneda to share the show with him. TFD put together a gorgeous little 20 minute minimix, before handing over to Omar to close, and man, did he close in style! Be prepared to have your socks blown off with 100 minutes of absolute quality.

The Funk District & Omar Berneda - Hot Sauce - Spin City 183

Caribbean rhythm, the man who drinks beer with pepper sauce. In 2018 he was visiting São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro playing on Mareh stand at MECA Festival, it was awesome. World Disco Edits producer, the mexican Fernando makes his mixes on the same way playing some of his own tracks influenced by African, Latin and psychedelic American Funk like James Brown (who kissed the hand of his dad at a concert in Philadelphia mid 70's). A mystical vibe like the warm Caribbean nights between Tulum, Playa and Cancun, where @the-funk-district resides and spreads his music.

This is my Spin City Showthat aired live at 7pm 09.12.2018 on myhouseradio.fm. This week I shared the show with my friend, Norweigan based Carl Christian Welhaven aka Beatwell. It was a pleasure to share a show with Carl.

I played the first part of the show with tracks from Jkriv, Saint Paul, Mike Dunn, MuteNoise, Secret Squirrels, Pete Le Freq, Joe Cleen, Cody Currie, Imfrom Ull and The Funk District before handing over to Beatwell to see out the show, and boy, does he deliver in fine style. This is a you do not want to miss.

More about Spin City's guests for the week
Beatwell is Dj who is based in Oslo, Norway. He holds a prestigious residency at Hakkasan Ling Ling, as well as playing regular gigs and private parties in his home town. His goal as a DJ is to always create the ultimate atmosphere, not just dropping bangers, taking the crowd on a journey into the rhythms of contemporary electronica, groovy disco & quality house music. He has been incredibly inspired by music from the last century including Old School Hip-Hop, Classic 80’s Disco, & the birth of Electronica. These have all made a lasting impression on him.

Carl also runs a superb monthly podcast series Called 'Caffeine Supreme' that has seen some of the best names in the business as guests. You can check this out on his Soundcloud page.

Barry & Gibbs , 2 artists from France, have been taking the nu-disco world by storm this year with their super cool re-edits, topping Traxsource charts and are gaining huge Soundcloud following as a result

Barry & Gibbs have been DJing together for 2 years now and they have really started to take the nu-disco world by storm with their outstanding track productions. As soon as you hear these super-talented artists productions, you will be hooked. All of their re-edits are beautiful.. Since early 2018, Barry & Gibbs have been working on old classic disco and making them fresh and funky – gaining them a massive 8k followers in just 4 months on Soundcloud.

Barry&Gibbs are Quentin and Fred. They have been friends for over 10 years now and share that same passion for disco and funk music. As well as their super-cool music productions, they have been working on many other projects, such as launching their DAB+ radio station, “Playloud” in North France. In 2016, this talented duo decided to start their own “disco thing” in their hometown Lilles ,France where they showcased their very own tracks to the people that came to party. Tronik Youth is Neil Parnell, a well-respected DJ, producer and label boss of Nein Records in the UK. Tronik has released numerous singles and around 100 remixes over the last decade, with current singles Psycho Bubble and The Shaker still in many DJs‘ bags and on Beatport charts. He is about to release his second album called Neon Disease. He has also released an album of ambient/drone music under his own name to strong acclaim this year, and his debut album Youth Is Wasted On The Young, featuring Factory Floor’s Gabe Gurnsey on drums, was released in July 2015.

The Nein record label he owns and runs includes esteemed artists such as Rodion, Black Light Smoke, Roe Deers, Daniele Baldelli, DJ Rocca, Cabaret Nocturne, Two Mamarrachos, Emperor Machine, Antoni Miaovvi, Gemini Brothers, Man Power, Heretic and Curses. He was voted in the top 30 artists of 2016 on Beatport’s Indie Dance Genre and his label was on the website top ten labels. Nein was also in Resident Advisors top 100 charted labels for 2016.

Tronik Youth hosts the regular Nein Records flagship radio show on Cowbell, whereby each month the label selects a special guest mix. The show is already fast becoming a popular place for world premieres and a hub for social media frenzy.
