From 18th December, 2021 - ROTATION - Live from Monarch in San Francisco shared decks with David Harness and Jayvi Velasco, while in the lounge, DJ Proof and Ivan Ruiz worked the one and twos with Funk/Soul/Disco sets...this is my set which includes a fair amount of "classics" so, if you're in that listening mode, this should quench your thirst...also featuring a few recent releases to round out my set...and I'll say this - playing vinyl presents that something-something that is distinct and different from programming digital sets...it's not an elitist thing and I can't really explain it any better but it is certainly a unique experience...could be the actual handling of those plastic platters - maybe?? A brief story about Some Out Of None as an artist, also goes by the name of ''Yoeri''. Musically raised by the art of bboying better known as breakin/breakdance. Besides loving the process of creating he also collects vinyl and practices the art of dj-ing daily. Since early days he felt passionate about music and how it connects people. Around his teens, he got his first turntables and mixer and started recording mixes through tape decks. Shortly after that he built his own DJ booth with a friend. From there he started collecting music and building a music library for his own listening pleasure.

In the years after he started with bboying'/breakdance and found out about this whole movement and culture. He delved further into currents and influences and got to know a different kind of music. As a dancer he went into organizing dance events and making music. At these activities and meeting many new people, he discovered House music in its purest form. Fascinated by the Chicago and Detroit sounds he got inspired by four to the floor music.

In terms of a musical spectrum he actually moves in all sorts of directions. What is important to Yoeri is that it generates energy, emotion and pureness at all times. In Yoeri's opinion music should uplift you. You might recognize this energy in his music.

Hailing from Koszalin in Poland, Das Komplex is undoubtedly an artist of many talents - a full time Architect by trade, he has released material on Father And Son Records and Tapes label and also offered up the extolled and coveted 6th pressing on the STEP imprint back in August 2015 - a record that sold out rapidly after hitting the shelves.

Not much else is known about the mysterious man, except that this past June he returned to Catz n' Dogz vinyl only STEP platform with 8 disco inspired cuts and his first foray into long player territory with "All For Love". With that LP available now, we recruited Das Komplex to provide our latest exclusive mix. Chock full of originals this is an hour+ of fine grooves for your mid week blues.
