To sum up in one word, «folk» might work, but Mads With isn’t easily confined within genres. His music’s references are many and draw from art and literature, molded into a seamless and distinctive sound. Choosing guitar and voice as his core palette colors, he paints pictures and tells stories. The music itself is sparse, yet playful. Its meditative moods offer more question marks than exclamations. His lyrics raise awareness of important topics at the forefront of today’s headlines.
