ZAYLiEN is a Florida born human, introspective sound wizard. Stylistically centered on bass driven melodies, his works stretch from technical melodies to rhythmically oriented dance tracks. ZAYLiEN engaged most of his early fanbase through YouTube releasing bass remixes and originals to then further expanding to animated visualized versions of original tracks. Early recognition caught him attention from projects such as Korn and Haywyre and his original style and unique approach to video production keeps his project on the forefront.

With a lifetime of piano proficiency and old-school scratching capability, ZAYLiEN captivates an audience by performing live, often with an array of analog synthesizers and vinyl turntables.

Hello there! Thanks for visiting! My name is Joe. I'm an aspiring digital music producer, web developer, Android app developer, materials scientist/engineer, and visionary. My ultimate goal is to become an astronaut, push to establish a lunar base, go there, and finally unite the Earth as a planet, to the point that anyone in the world can connect with anyone else as long as their actions are rooted in compassion and empathy. I am a good person trying to make his way through life, but I feel the universe speaking to me right now, and I know things are about to explode. This SoundCloud is the springboard from which I will do just that.

Little more about me - I'm from the suburbs of New Jersey, a small but amazingly diverse town named Edison. I recently graduated with a master's in Micro- and Nanotechnology Enterprise from the University of Cambridge. I am a smart guy, but more importantly a good guy with good family and good friends, and music has always been a huge part of my life. I have been formally trained to play jazz piano, and I've always thought it would be amazing to merge jazz and other complex musical elements with electronic dance music, hip-hop, and all other kinds of exciting genres!

It's so incredible to see this actually happening with some of my favorite new artists, influences, and role models - Madeon, Porter Robinson, Zedd, Seven Lions, Savant, Arty, Mat Zo, MiTiS, Coyote Kisses, Virtual Riot, Mord Fustang, NetSky, and so many more. And it's unbelievably encouraging to see that they all started out with pretty much the same equipment I did - a computer, a keyboard, some speakers, a basic digital audio workstation, and a whole lot of determination.
 
I know that I can produce music in the same league. All I need to do is learn to use a few more tools - Sylenth1, AutoTune, some other awesome VSTs, and a some general digital music production tricks. Oh, and perhaps one good production keyboard, an expansive, high quality soundfont library, a Novation Launchpad, and a good mixer. I am so fortunate that one of my closest friends (an amazingly selfless, kind-hearted person) owns a Launchpad and a good mixer, and is willing to let me get my hands on them! I am in the process of acquiring these tools to exponentially expand my production ability, and I'm hoping that some of the artists I admire will see this page, see a little bit of themselves in me, and give me some tips! My dream is know what it feels like be onstage and make thousands of people truly enjoy their lives for one night. And then go to the moon, of course.

Of course, I believe this entire movement that's happening, all the way to humanity achieving Tier 1 Civilization status, was set in motion by Daft Punk. With the release of the Discovery album and Interstella 5555, they were among the first artists to generate truly universal, international appeal. That's why we love them so much, Madeon. They are the catalyst that set in motion a chain of events that will finally unite the Earth within our lifetimes. You and I are a part of that chain of events, too, as are all the other artists I mentioned, along with all the amazing people I've come to meet during my time on the Earth who consistently root their actions in compassion, empathy, mindfulness, and faith in a better tomorrow. This is The Art of Power (fantastic book by the way), and now we must utilize it to come together to unite the world. And I truly believe that anything we set our hearts and minds towards, as long as we have the the right motivations, is possible. Let's carve a way there together. We can collectively accomplish all the dreams we never thought were possible. It's going to happen.

In the meantime, enjoy listening to some of my work! My tools of production started with an ancient Roland digital piano with 16-track recording, and has progressed to the FL Studio DAW. I want to learn many more tools, like Cubase, Ableton, and some awesome VSTs. I'm going to need some advice from those in the know!
