Pradip Sarkar aka Sikander DJ is a Naarm/Melbourne-based DJ, music producer, founding member of live electronic act Sikander, and radio show host (Tiger Beats Elephant Grooves, PBS FM). His DJ sets offer a globe-trotting experience of a sonic palate that traverses a range of groove-based styles from Turkish disco, South Asian house, Afro-house, and dubby Outernational 2-step, to leftfield psychedelic grooves and acid-tinged edits and remakes of Bollywood and Indian film music.
Pradip has performed in various venues in Naarm/Melbourne, such as the Workshop, Loop Bar, Section 8, the Radio Bar (Fitzroy), Rubix (Brunswick), and supported the live acts Bashka and Daoud (France) at the Corner Hotel and the Cambodian Space Project (CSP) at the Northcote Social Club. He also performed at the Tanglewood and Rainbow Serpents festivals, and internationally in Berlin, Frankfurt, Calcutta, and at the iconic Studio Lam in Bangkok. He is currently a resident DJ at Grand Trunk Radio, taking place on the first Sunday of the month at Radio Bar, Brunswick St, Fitzroy.
