Storm Circus is an ode to the people I’ve met while playing music and a reach toward a simple sound with a sincere heart. Over the last five years I’ve toured the country with my former band, The Radiance Effect, playing thousands of shows, being a part of countless festivals, rocking out at events east to west and all the lovely spaces in between. In that time I’ve been fortunate enough to build solid friendships with my fans, hanging out after shows, meeting for coffee or over dinner and taking comfort in warm respite from the lonely road. From the beginning, I’ve always created music that tries to draw a straight line from my heart to those fans, and Storm Circus is my next step on that journey. I am taking the energy I infused into my former project, but stripping it bare, creating a raw and pure sound that connects me directly with anyone who listens.


With the depth and moodiness of The Civil Wars, and the raw yet contemplative honesty of Bon Iver and Dashboard Confessional, Storm Circus is a dark folk project meant to resurrect the conversations I've had with fans and friends over the last few years. Bringing to the surface the things I've been through, heard and seen, and bringing a sense of dual ownership and community to my words, my lyrics are as much your stories as my own. I want to speak loudly, with simplicity, to create a soundtrack that plays in harmony with where I am as an artist and where we all are in everyday life. To that end, I try to make songs that are cinematic and raw, not masked by noise or production. Real, authentic and me.

There is a big world out there, full of people who need a song, understanding and a whole lot of love. I just hope to give that to everyone I meet, in an honest song, in a smile and with music that feels like a true friend.

Hailing from Springfield, Missouri, Gentry Stanley writes and performs under the moniker "Glad Ghosts". The singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist released his debut record, The Loudest, in 2012 to favorable reviews. Songs like “Subside” and “Don’t Give Up On Me” struck a chord with critics and listeners everywhere, while the singles “Let Me Love You” and “Subside” earned spots on VH1’s Couple’s Therapy.   Glad Ghosts then followed-up with his next ep, Wild Wind, and his 2017 release Great Escape. His newest release Light is his 4th studio release and shows his command as a vocalist and writer. Tunes like “Light”, "Hallowed Halls", and “The Wolf” bleed passion and unfettered emotion.
