Mono no aware, translated to “the pathos of things” or “an empathy toward things” is a japanese term for the awareness of impermanence or transience of things, and a gentle sadness at their passing as well as a longer, deeper gentle sadness about this state being the reality of life.

Written shortly after releasing the After Death album, this track premiered on the Texture & Aesthetic mixtape in 2017. Hope you enjoy.

Mono No Aware(coven exclusive 1)

Presenting Coven Exclusive 2: Gashadokuro

The Gashadokuro (rattling skulls) are spirits that take the form of giant skeletons, sometimes over 90 ft tall, said to be created from the amassed bones of people who died of starvation or battle without proper burial. These Yokai roam after midnight, grabbing lone travelers and biting off their heads to drink their spraying blood. Their victim would hear the sound of loud rattling/bone chattering in their ear, signaling this Yokai’s presence.

Originally featured on the "Texture & Aesthetic" mixtape in 2017. Enjoy.
