Twolate return to Toolroom Trax with their latest offering ‘Balcon’, a collaboration with fellow Italian producer NIINE. The duo Twolate have soundtracked the label in recent years with dancefloor anthems ‘Baila’, ‘Que Lo Que’ and ‘Pala Pala’ that have seen mass success in and outside the clubs from household heavyweights such as HUGEL, Dom Dolla, MK, Tiesto and Roger Sanchez.

Both Twolate and NIINE can seamlessly blend tribal rhythms and Latin influences which has fast become their trademark sound which has solidified their place as rising stars in the genre.

One of the finest sets we heard at Miami Winter Music was Amal Nemer DJing at 1-800 Lucky. The highlight of her two-hour loopy tech journey was her version of the Rhianna classic "Don't Stop The Music", with Amal delivering a percussion groove reminiscent of cuts played by Tini Gessler and Carlita. Stripped back and super DJ-friendly, we have recreated the vocal for everyone to enjoy this Ibiza-primed banger. Dive in.

For those who are not part of Dubdogz 5M plus monthly listeners, Marcos & Lucas Schmidt are a Brazilian dance music phenomenon. With over 1B global streams and monstrous DJ shows in their homeland, they have been a force to be recognised since their epic “Alors En Dance” remix in 2019. However, their move into Tech House this year got us excited, specifically “I Love It”, their collaboration with Grammy-nominated DLMT. After some A&R tennis across the pond, we can present their version of Gwen Stefani’s 00s classic “Hollaback Girl”, complete with Toronto-based rising star Dansyn. Much like their DJ chart smash “I Love It”, this cut is built on a killer bass and percussion groove. Add in a wonky synth, and you have a hooky-as-hell DJ-friendly smash. It’s a biggie.

Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
