We released Kevin McKay & Hotswing's "Club Mix" of Trapped in May. That pumping, feel-good mix hit the spot with tastemakers like John Morales, Erik Hagleton, Stacey Pullen, and K-Klass. Kevin's first take, however, was a deeper version, and with the sun out and Ibiza in full swing, now is the perfect time to release it. A firm friend of Glitterbox, the producer, DJ and label founder’s previous label outings include ‘Sunday Stomper’ with Will Tramp and ‘Nothing But Happiness’, with the latter receiving much play from Danny Krivit, Folamour and Dave Lee (JN). His relationship with the London label continues to grow in 2025, with upcoming sets at fabric in London for sister label Defected, their flagship festival in Croatia plus an impressive Ibiza showing planned for the summer… Originally released in 2012 by Luca Cazal and Ali Love as Infinity Ink, ‘Infinity’ would quickly become a standout record from the second ‘golden-era of house’ in the 2010s; now Alan Dixon adds an explosive, synth-laden verve to the seminal classic for a Glitterbox release built for modern dancefloors.

We are delighted to welcome French DJ, producer and singer, Baccus, to the label. You will likely know him from his multi-million streaming, French-touch-meets-disco hit with Oden & Fatzo “Can’t Let You Go”. If not that, then his killer Zara-house cut “Feel Your Soul”, will surely have caught you bopping whilst you’ve been shopping. As you might guess, here he revisits the S.O.S. Band’s classic cut with the help of Elliotte Williams-N’Dure and our disco quartet. Add in Baccus’ glittering guitar licks and some superb live bass and you have a Purple Disco style jam of epic proportions. Poolside magic!

Dusty Springfield’s version of this is a stone-cold classic. Over the years it’s been a sampler's favourite with both Sonny Fodera and Maribou State two big names who have crafted a version. Travis Emmons has provided some of our favourite deep house re-rubs over the years (his “Grapevine” rework is an anthem in East London), so when he popped up with this one we were all over it like a powerful moss. When it came to singers, there was only one option too. Darcey has delivered some dynamite for us and her soft jazzy tones are absolutely perfect here. So sit back, press play and enjoy some delicious deepness in the sunshine.

It’s been a minute since we’ve had Sven Kerkhoff on the label. 2021’s big-charting, DJ-friendly classic house of “Hear The Music” is our last collab. That said, we’re big fans of his classic house sound; it’s no wonder that top-drawer labels like Nervous and Henry Street have featured his slow-burning beats. “Need You” began life as a demo that Sven and fellow Germany-based producer Nuray Alkan sent to Kevin McKay. He loved the ideas in it so much, he got involved. The resulting collaboration has touches of Kerkhoff’s influences (DJ Tonka, Ian Pooley), Nuray’s love of classic house and Kevin’s loopy 90s cut-ups (it’s giving us serious “Don’t Turn Your Back On Me” vibes!) So, if disco-fuelled 90s deepness is your thing, this is for you!

Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
