Stefano Crabuzza is a young DJ and producer from Sardinia who has released razor-sharp grooves on tastemaker labels like Dennis Cruz's MUSE and Stefano Noferini's DPE. He can count the likes of Matthias Tanzmann, Black Coffee, Neverdogs, and wAFF among his fans. His debut for us is a drum-smashing anthem with tribal shouts and crowd-whipping whistles, a non-stop percussion party. Empire of the Sun's "Walking On A Dream" is one of the songs of our generation. It may not have been the band's biggest hit on release, but it has grown into an absolute monster since then. Kevin McKay's 2019 edit of it has been a dancefloor favourite since he first tested it out at his I Feel Love parties at Mick's Garage (now Colour Factory) in Hackney. Over the last five years, the DJ support for this killer rework has grown exponentially. This support culminated in a final play of the Music On season 2023 by Marco Carola. Clips of this have been shared on social media millions of times. With this amount of groundswell, we asked Simon Ellis back after his stellar performance on "Somebody That I Used To Know", and Kevin has rebuilt a backing with 2024 in mind (while still keeping the magic of that original edit). So now, for all the DJs asking, here is Kevin's version of "Walking On A Dream".

Milan-based DJ & producer Skylin3 is one of our favourite new artists. His version of this Beyonce classic dropped at the end of last year, and DJs loved it. From the underground tech (Miane, Alan Nieves, Jamie Jones) to the house heads (Erik Hagleton, Sam Supplier, CASSIMM) to those more used to big-stage bangers (Torren Foot, Wenzday, Shiba San), there was an outpouring of love. The wider DJ community might have slept on this one, so we asked Kevin McKay to deliver a VIP edit to see if this could get the ball rolling. He's jacked up the beats and added a powerful FM mid-bass to jet-propel the groove—proper peak-time business.

Twolate return to Toolroom Trax with their latest offering ‘Balcon’, a collaboration with fellow Italian producer NIINE. The duo Twolate have soundtracked the label in recent years with dancefloor anthems ‘Baila’, ‘Que Lo Que’ and ‘Pala Pala’ that have seen mass success in and outside the clubs from household heavyweights such as HUGEL, Dom Dolla, MK, Tiesto and Roger Sanchez.

Both Twolate and NIINE can seamlessly blend tribal rhythms and Latin influences which has fast become their trademark sound which has solidified their place as rising stars in the genre.

His version of "Naughty Girl" is sitting pretty in the tech house charts, following his Raffa FL collab that achieved the same. "The Way I Are" samples Timbaland's 2007 banger with Keri Hilson and D.O.E. and flips the electro-tinged R&B hit into a massive synth-driven monster. Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
