Hot Creations welcomes Uzbekistan talent Trace to the mix for his deep grooving ‘Fake Friends’. 

Fresh from releases on Nervous Records, North Of Neptune, and Criterio Records, Trace continues to make a mark as a promising up-and-coming artist in the electronic music sphere. His breakthrough came last year with ‘Taka Doom’, released on Cloonee’s Hellbent Records, earning him a spot in the Beatport Top 10 and garnering huge support from luminaries such as Solomun, Fisher, Marco Carola, and more. Now, the Uzbekistani DJ/producer lands his debut on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations with ‘Fake Friends’, adding another impressive label to his growing catalogue.

“Last year, I released ‘Taka Doom’ and managed to combine the groove with the vocal sample nicely. With this record, I decided to do the same but with a totally fresh and different vibe. I think that the result is pretty good!” - Trace. 

Launching with crisp percussion, 'Fake Friends’ unleashes a cascade of bumping bass licks amid tumbling sonics. The track's rhythmic precision and contagious groove seamlessly meld beneath the deep, infectious male vocals, embodying the dancefloors vibrant pulse.

King James Lee is the musical driving force behind one of London's biggest LGBTQIA+ parties, Roast @ Electrowerkz. James delivers high-octane, tech-edged entertainment every fortnight to a packed house of bears, cubs, chubs, chasers, muscles and admirers. His first single with us (w/ Brandy X) was the brilliant "Break The Disco", a pumping yet personal protest song about acceptance in clubland. On "Body Bumpin", he and vocalist Leyla Diamondi take us to Roast's main room for a no-holes-barred DJ-friendly thump-fest. Hardfloor-esque acid and Andruss-style beats underpin a system-shaking bassline, while Leyla delivers a cool-as-you-like topline. "DJ, come give me something," she deadpans before the main drop, and King James Lee delivers with aplomb. It's a killer.

Prolific Polish duo Catz ‘n Dogz return to DFTD with ‘Fired Up’, featuring Dope Earth Alien’s unmistakeable vocal. The house, disco and electro DJs and producers have just celebrated two decades of chart-topping releases and international shows with a special remix compilation on their own label, ‘20 Years Of Catz ‘n Dogz’ on Pets Recordings; the label bosses are also heading to Defected Croatia 2024 for an anniversary boat party like no other. Following their two-track DFTD releases ‘Inner Revelation’ and ‘No Regrets’ in 2020 and 2021 respectively, Greg and Voitek return to the London club label with prolific dance vocalist Dope Earth Alien; also a DFTD returnee following recent club hits ‘That Sound’ with Deeper Purpose & GUZ and ‘Tempo’ with OFFAIAH. House music heavyweights Catz ’n Dogz team up with rising Brooklyn emcee Aaron Veal to drop ‘Jump, Bounce’ a seamless fusion of house and hip-hop.

Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
