Ahead of their Subculture appearance on Saturday the 2nd of November Jasper James and Joshua recorded this special Subculture mix.

Already burgeoning new music makers and record breakers in their own right, Jasper and Josh have the good genes to join any generation gap and a whole heap of House heritage to exploit. 

These two are good friends of our’s here at Sub Club but can usually be found plying their trade as the head henchmen of one of our favourite nights in Glasgow, Stay Fresh.
Apart from causin’ it in their native city they have been making appearances further afield of late, both of these guys are more than accomplished tunesmiths around and about ensuring an accomplished evening of electric and eclectic sounds is on the menu.

Incase you didn't know Subculture is one of the world's longest running underground house nights with Harri and Domenic knocking out just short of 20 years of their week in, week out Saturday night residency which in itself may well be a world record!

We have some massive guests lined up over the holiday season but, as we have pointed out before, people regularly tell us “it’s the resident’s nights that are the best at the Sub Club.” - and we couldn't agree more!!

Its getting darker and colder here in the UK and our mind is turning to the kind of songs that strike a chord with those long winter nights. For our house sets that means darker, weightier cuts or those tinged with melancholy. Warming us up for these moodier beats are some slow-burning disco grooves.

When we first released the DeMarzo remix of Walker & Royce back at the end of last year both W&R and DeMarzo were just emerging. Following high profile released on Crosstown Rebels, Moda Black and Hot Creations respectively we thought this was the perfect time to re-introduce Demarzo's remix of Walker & Royce's "I Surrender" - an ice cool slice of Winter disco.

ILLYUS & BARRIENTOS - DO ANYTHING YOU WANNA

We're just a little bit proud of this collaboration. We've been working with these two guys for a while now and thought their talents would be a perfect match. After a bit of cajoling, we got the two of them in the studio and boy are we glad we did.

There is no other way to put this - "Do Anything You Wanna" is an absolute anthem. The vocals are hooky like "Shake That", pianos classy like Ejeca's finest and its beats walk around like they are bigger than Prince. An instant dancefloor bomb that should propel two of Glasgow's hottest new talents on to seriously big things. 

"The Times We Shared" is a bit moodier, but equally floor-filling. It oozes vocal style like the best of Diynamic but with some added super-tough Glaswegian beats that take the record into the kind of territory Deep Dish would be in (if they were still making records as good as they did in '94 today).

Nora En Pure - Sweet Melody / Lost In Time EP

Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
