Under the alias Daedelus, Alfred Darlington has been an instigator of electronic music culture for the past 25+ years. A fore-figure of Los Angeles' Beat Scene, they have released 20+ LPs, countless EPs, remixes, and additional productions on labels such as Ninja Tune, WARP, and Brainfeeder. As a performer they're synonymous with controllers, from the grid Monome to computer-free modular, and have played over 1,000+ shows on 6 continents at events ranging from Boilerroom to festival mainstages such as Coachella.

Dj at Dublab, founding faculty member for the Berklee College of Music's EDI (Electronic Digital Instrument) program, and S.E.T.I. artist in residence.

Drumdrops is the one-stop online shop for crate-digging sample fiends hunting for killer drum loops through to prime-time producers & writers looking for the best multi-tracked live drum tracks money can buy. 

We set out to build the pre-eminent rhythmic resource for producers - dedicated drum performances, stems and loops spanning dub, disco, funk, rock and a host of other genres. All played on vintage kits by some of the best drummers in the business and recorded lovingly via classic consoles then captured on tape for an authentic sound that puts a heavyweight punch on everything from a demo to the final mixdown.

Sie began his musical journey as a tape-op at Milo Studios in East London. After striking up an instant rapport with Howie B he became his faithful friend and assistant working on classic album after classic album. The first track Sie made and released as an artist was a collaboration with Luke Gordon (Spacer) under the name Sie + N:M Ratio. The track was titled 'Deep Blue' and came out on Pussyfoot 004.

Sie’s minimalist approach back then forged a distinctive sound and in 1997 his debut LP 'Ruban D'Alpha' was released followed shortly to widespread acclaim from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Ross Allen and Patrick Forge. In the latter half of 97 he began producing and mixing for other people, first up was an album for French hip hop artist Roudoudou then onto albums for Skylab, Björk, UNKLE to name a few. After this Sie never looked back, truly making the studio his safe zone!

In 2018 you will still find Sie in the control room, producing, mixing and lending his hand at Musical directing for the likes of Depeche Mode, Rudimental, David Guetta, Luke Slater, Yonaka and Rita Ora amongst others.
