The Essential Mix Future Stars series continues with Annie Mac's choice, Friend Within.

"The mix is a good representation of my live DJ sets from the past year. They have consisted solely of my own productions and remixes. I've been a busy boy and had over 60 tracks to choose from. Specifically in this Essential Mix are some of my very first releases on Dirtybird through to remixes of Disclosure, Bondax and Ella Eyre continuing onto tunes from my forthcoming EP on Hypercolour. There are also 7 previously unheard treats which are not even lined up for release yet, including a special refix of a Groove Armada chill-out classic. GLBDOM PODCAST054 with Ruff Stuff @ruffstuffcrew

The Italian born, Berlin based, DJ and producer Ruff Stuff have rocked up on a host on different labels, including !K7, Shall Not Fade, Madhouse Records, Suol, Sloth Boogie, Neovinyl, Quality Vibe and STEP Recordings. 
However, it's the work on his own label, the aptly names Ruff Stuff Music Ltd, for which he’s arguably best renowned.
Grew up during the ‘90’s electronic wave, firstly as clubber and then as DJ and vinyl enthusiast, in the mid-2000s he decided to start produce electronic music. The first steps were moved on the Idm and Ambient territories, driven by his love for ethereal melodies and intricate broken beats.
The shift to House happened after re-discovering different classic records hidden in his collection. 
From here the idea to create a music project focused on representing the vibes of the old-school House, Techno and Garage with a propensity to find the newest, freshest sounds.
Rough samples, hypnotic melodies, groovy beats and vocals are the main ingredients that marks the Ruff Stuff’s sound.

We're happy to have one of our favourite Amsterdam acts back for another mix: Detroit Swindle.

Detroit Swindle was formed in 2011 by Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets. The duo started 0ut for dubious reasons, namely when Lars - who was programming a few nightclubs in Amsterdam - had to fire Maarten for playing too much underground music. They started talking and found out they had a mutual love for Motown, hip-hop and early house music. Not long after, they started making music together and the rest as they say, is history.
