Terry James first came to know the sounds of the underground in Detroit and Chicago in 92' And it was the minimal sounds of Richie Hawtin, that helped him make that life changing switch from metal to dance music . in the years after he got heavily involved and influenced from the sounds that were coming outta Detroit at that time and started collecting and playing vinyl , Studying the masters and learning the craft of playing and hosting events.
In 2000 he decided to move to San Diego, focusing more on his mixing events and promoting. And pushing the Detroit techno sound in SoCal. His Underground Mafia and Next Step productions events have featured such greats as Juan Atkins, Frankie Bones, Woody McBride, Tim Baker, Crystal Method , Dj Roach and So many other local SoCal supper stars. His goals for years to come is to keep pushing his Eternal event which is going into its 7th year of production and keeping the underground alive in a world of EDM = Every Day Music.
