We’re hitting the ground running on this next one as Toolroom welcomes mysterious UK duo Wh0 & Brighton powerhouse Kideko for their main label release. Teaming up together on ‘Soul Searcher’, Wh0 & Kideko bring a fresh touch to the label with a sound that skirts the world of 2000’s Daft Punk French House vibe but with a more refined edge. 
 
Wh0 have released on Toolroom and the sub label Toolroom Trax previously, with the killer ‘Real Good’ & Dombresky collab ‘Take Me Away’, Kideko on the other hand makes his Toolroom debut. An established name in the scene already, Kideko has released cuts on Ministry of Sound, Stress Records, Realm and many more, collaborating with artists such as Friend Within, Armand Van Helden and Kudu Blue to name a few. 
 
Although we might not really know who Wh0 are, given the result of this record, it’s clear to see that the duo are a perfect match for a collab with Kideko. Together, they have dropped a full blown, feel-good House production. From the get-go, ‘Soul Searcher’ hooks you in with its incredible use of the 1976 classic D.C Larue ‘Cathedrals’ sample layered with tough drums and plenty of weight to keep those dance floors moving. There are some awesome brass hits that swirl around the filtered-out rising piano chords and a killer vocal ‘Don’t stop the music now it’s deep inside my soul’. Safe to say Kideko & Wh0 have absolutely smashed this!

If you think things couldn't get hotter, then you have no idea what's coming next on Toolroom. Label founder Mark Knight returns with his most anticipated release yet for 2022 and this time it's a truly special occasion as Mark enlists Dance Music royalty Armand Van Helden for their debut collaboration, 'The Music Began To Play'.

An artist who needs no introduction, Grammy nominated Armand Van Helden is one of dance music's most revered figures, with a career spanning 30 years and a vast discography which includes hits such as 90's classic 'You Don't Know Me' to his seminal hit 'My My My'. His productions and sound have certainly transcended the confines of Dance Music, influencing mainstream popular culture. With a list of collaborations spanning Dizzy Rascal to Steve Aoki, not forgetting one half of Duck Sauce with turntable wizard A-Trak, Armand Van Helden has a reputation as one of House Music's finest producers.

On a roll already this year, Mark Knight has firmly cemented both himself and Toolroom back into the club with a string of collaborations in 2022, from 'You Are A God' with James Hurr and Cari Golden to 'What I Need' with RETNA, Mark seeks to continue this trend with 'The Music Began To Play'. Kicking off with a hard-hitting, thumping House groove and electrified bass line that drives the record hard, pushing the mix to the absolute limit. Before dropping into the track's golden moment, sampling the 1979 classic Disco cut 'I Don't Need No Music' by T.J.M, a gem of a record and one that encapsulates both Mark and Armand's love for classic cuts. Together, 'The Music Began To Play' is an instant classic in the making, masterful work from two of House Music's finest showing us how it's done.

It's already been (more than) one year ago since we released "Butch - no worries",
which was voted for the Ibiza Award in the category "best track of the season",
in the Groove Magazin and Resident Advisor for"best track" and "best remix"in 2010.
This time Butch shows his varied style and pulls a three tracker out of his sleeve.
On the A side he starts with a crazy, freaky, groove monster "Big Futt", which is followed up
by a strong summer anthem "Sweet in the morning".Turn the record around to the B side and you get a hypnotizing sound called "Bless Us".

Multi-platinum record selling musician and record producer, Glenn Morrison is the archetype of the modern DJ/producer star. The 37-year-old Toronto native is as happy rocking an underground house party as he is performing at an exclusive oceanic rooftop venue; as adept at composing an international club anthem like ‘Contact’ as he is at concocting a pop dance record that strikes to the Billboard Charts in America.  His single ‘Goodbye’ has been Certified Double Platinum and went Number 1 for 11 weeks in a row on the Canadian Billboard Chart, as well as going Number 1 in Russia’s Billboard Chart.  It wound up taking over Eastern Europe and became Number 1 in 7 Countries to date.

He is signed to Sony Records, Universal Music Group and Sony Music ATV as a writer, producer, & recording artist. He has been nominated for several Juno Awards in 2015, as well as Fans Choice Award / Dance Artist of the Year / Dance Record of the Year for Sirius XM Radio Music Awards, and won the SOCAN Dance Record of the Year 2015. 

Glenn has enjoyed the support of DJs as varied as John Digweed and Pete Tong to Dixon and Solomun. For three years he was resident at Ibiza’s Amnesia Club, and was a resident at Space in Ibiza for 1 year, as well as Space in Miami for 2 years.  Last year, Glenn added the latest addition to his residency repertoire in his monthly night being held in Las Vegas at the acclaimed Moon Nightclub at the Palms Casino.  And he is perfecting a sinuous, hooky sound that combines the eerie beauty of pure techno with light rains of melody and flashes of emotion.

In short, Glenn Morrison is one of the most dynamic and accomplished talents in electronic music today. Period.

Morrison is a difficult DJ to pigeonhole and that’s what makes him such a fascinating talent. One minute his sound is ruthlessly minimal and funky; the next it’s washed in color and vocals and emotion.

Glenn has had an unusual career path. He started off as a classical pianist, a preteen prodigy, performing  – and winning – competitions. Then came a life-changing encounter with electronic music.

Production continues apace in the new mastering studio Morrison has built in Toronto, entitled Alpine Mastering (www.alpinemastering.com). Be it sound design for video game companies like Nintendo, EA Sports, Activision or Rockstar, or his own productions, he simply doesn’t stop making and playing music.  His latest partnership with IMAX has been a thrilling experience, pushing the boundaries of electronic music to that of sound-scoring live theatre visuals.  Glenn & IMAX unveiled this concept with a 3 part show series at the 2012 ComicCon event held at the Ruben H Fleet Science Centre in San Diego, and it was a huge success. “It’s been a liberating transition for me to make music for all different stylistic purposes, and I’m very grateful for having the ability to do what I love for a living” says Glenn.
