In the words of Ben Gwilliam: 
"Vestibül was conceived as a short series of listening studies in 2010 as my interest in the materials in my work was shifting towards the physical properties of sound media and the ensuing relationship between sound and image making. 

Recording took place over one week in early january 2011, working closely with NurNichtNur producer Berserker at his recording studio, several tape machines were sequentially recorded in solo and in arrangements. The same approach was made with other magnetic systems I employ producing something that was mixed in sections on an analogue system. 

Having had a break from the project after 4 years, I attempted to finish the work in late 2014, having had the dust settle on changes, thoughts and attitudes on sound. As I have shifted towards process even further, (to my ears) Vestibül bookends a body of work that has lead my music into new territories."

You know as soon as you start listening to “Family Nails” that you are entering a place where bad things have happened. 

Who is the family in question? Is it Edward’s own bloodline or is it his Motherland, the war ravaged buildings of his home in Kiev, Ukraine. 

There is a sense of conflict. Picking over the bones in the aftermath. The apprehensive search for beginning. 

The album finishes on “Right Leg’s Shorter”. A twenty one minute trek towards the light at the end of the tunnel. 

Are the family nails being driven or pulled? 

File under uneasy and essential listening.

Composed and recorded in July 2015 by Edward Sol, using reel tapes, cassette loops, analogue synth, sampler, contact mics and acoustic microphones.

This Heap Is Greater Light is the result of an eight month intensive collaboration between Canadian electro-acoustic composers Mathieu Ruhlmann and Chris Strickland. The result is a methodical crushing of disparate times, materials, and environments into a continuous organic flux. The pieces on this album explore intensity and quietude, noise and tonality. They incorporate field recordings, digital synthesis, classical instruments, and a sundry of everyday occurrences using reel to reel tape machines and VCR decks. This Heap Is Greater Light is a perplexing and highly-detailed work of dream-like music concrete.

The rural landscape of Bucks County, Pennsylvania has seen many of it's field-stone structures fall into disrepair and decay as its farm fields became subdivisions and condominiums. Trying To Remember A House is the beginning of a consideration of this entropy. 
Trips from, returns to, memories of walking through and swimming in the summer… 
The sounds of the fall line remain. This is an attempt to record the sounds of this area as they where heard and impart them with them the essence they once embodied. 
This is the first in a series of works by Mirande inspired by impressionist painter Daniel Garber, who vividly documented life in the Delaware River Valley.

Recorded, edited, and mixed by Christian Mirande using room and field recordings on iphone and tape, open-reel tape manipulations, and digital re-synthesis.

No Way In celebrates Joe Colley's return after a self-imposed hiatus from creating music. Colley was last spotted in 2012 with his "Lonely Microphone" LP on Italy's Senufo Editions. 
No Way In is a further exploration of Colley's terrain of internal dilemma, mental stress, paranoia, and the pessimistic contemplation of one's fate. This could be a soundtrack to distract one from these thoughts, or it could be the trigger that stirs such things.

My heart was racing, sweat was bulleted on my face and neck, and when I turned around to see what was behind me, out of breath, and losing my footing, everything went black. When I woke up I was lying in the grass near the top of the green mountain. A stone house was behind, and you were leaning over me, looking down the hill. The sun was hidden by the clouds, but the afternoon haze turned everything blue, unnatural in azure. A light breeze moved your hair. The clouds opened up, and on the next hill where it had rained, the droplets shimmered, reflected in the orange-baked sun. And then I fell asleep. Everything went black and disappeared again."

"The pieces that comprise Nature Mirror were composed and recorded during late spring 2017, as the rice fields of Nagano were being filled with water and planted. After a long winter, this process is known as “waking up the fields”. 
These paddies surround my home area and are a common sight throughout Matsumoto. Punctuated by lines of rice stalks, the water is still and perfectly reflects the environment above and around. The four tracks on this album were greatly influenced by these flat mirrors of water and contain location recordings from these areas. Stillness, parallel lines and nature are represented in the music just as clouds and mountains are reflected in the flooded fields."
