A decorated British producer and DJ known under many names, Dave Lee is one of the world’s premier disco and house experts. A bona fide nightlife stalwart, Dave Lee has produced and remixed for the world’s biggest artists including Bob Marley, Pet Shop Boys, Diana Ross, Grace Jones and Lionel Richie to name a small few, while also playing at the very best clubs around the world; an upcoming set at Glitterbox’s Hï Ibiza residency is set for summer 2025. For his latest funk-fuelled disco stomper, Dave Lee utilises the chorus of legendary Chicago vocalist Shawn Christopher’s ‘People Of All Nations’, a certified staple of the 80s and house music mainstay. Shawn Christopher delivers on lead vocals, showcasing her powerful sound that has earned her the status of house music royalty, with fellow Windy City native Black Widow accentuating the record’s positive message of inclusivity and acceptance.

Electronic artist and DJ Kiddy Smile returns to Glitterbox with a striking house record, ‘Spank’. A former radio resident for nightlife phenomenon Glitterbox, the French artist previously appeared on the label side with remixes of his Defected hits ‘Let A Bitch Know’ and ‘Teardrops In A Box’, with the first remixed by fellow selector and fashion maverick Honey Dijon. Since then, Kiddy Smile continues to be a fierce advocate for electronic artists on the fringe of society, pushing boundaries of gender, class, and race when performing at the presidential Élysée Palace in 2018, all the way to representing France at the Paris Paralympics Closing Ceremony in 2024. With a sound inspired by Chicago house, his latest release, ‘Spank’, was produced alongside visionary artist Zach Witness; Kiddy delivers his signature, tough spoken-word vocals over joyous house beats and flavourful synths, with ‘Spank’ arriving at the height of summer to unite dancefloors in unbridled ecstasy.

Butch’s unmistakable music has always worn the influence of disco proudly on its sleeve. Both his mega-hit No Worries and his first contribution to the Running Back catalogue, Desire, are essentially modern-day disco records. The same goes for his return to the label with Glory Night—perhaps even more so, thanks to its vintage engineering and authentic aural treatment. Equipped with the genre’s signature sounds and arranged like a lost disco edit from the late ’70s, Butch applies the lotions and potions that today’s dancers demand, creating one of those peak-time sensations that make him unique—complete with confetti, a firecracker breakdown on top, and an extra rhythm section bonus tool included. Just Chill and Just Fly continue that narrative. While the first appeals to fans of R&B or funk samples (though no recordings were harmed in the process), it is catchy as hell and creates an inescapable maelstrom. The second, meanwhile, draws on the principles of deep house and exercises itself in contemplation. Be that as it may, here are a couple of tracks that work on almost any floor and at any time. Or, to quote Giorgio Moroder: “Disco is music for dancing, and people will always want to dance.”

This track is the raw, first-voltage test of an idea that captivated me: a love story told through the lens of oscillators and emotion. It features the breathtaking vocals of Eva, whose voice becomes the perfect human conduit for the yearning and warmth of my analog machines.

Consider this version a prologue. A live-wire sketch of the chemistry between timeless synth textures and intimate, vocal-led songwriting.

The full chapter is yet to come. A complete, remastered and reimagined version of "Temptation of Love" is being carefully crafted for its official release in 2026.
