Chewy  Rubs,  known  to  his  mom  as  Tom  grew  up  immersed  in  an  eclectic  mix  of  music.  He  learned  to  mix  rather  than  learning  to  drive,  wisely  buying  his  first  1200’s  instead  of  a  car.  He  passed  his  test  with  flying  colours  and first  graced  the  wheels  of  steel  in  his  hometown  of  Hereford  at  the  legendary  Naughty  But  Nice  during  the  mid-nineties.

Having  moved  to  Glasgow  and  then  to  London,  his  musical  education  continued,  schooled  in  the  sounds  of  breaks  and  Hip  Hop,  listening  to  The  Operators  and  by  working  in  a  central  London  vinyl  emporium.  It  was  here  with  an  endless  supply  of  fresh  vinyl,  back  catalogues  and  encircled  by  renowned  independent  shops  like  fat  Cat,  Black  Market,  Sista  Ray  and  Phonica  meant  he  could  continuously  indulge  his  passion  for  rare,  limited  edition  and  imported  wax.  

The  studio  and  Production  was  a  natural  next  step  and  after  mastering  the  art  of  Ableton  and  with  the  help  of  Soundcloud, his  influences  gelled  into  the  Chewy  Rubs  sound.  A  steady  tranche  of  killer  edits  followed,  and  support  has  come  fromGreg  Wilson,  Tiger  &  Woods,  Derek  Kaye,  Danny  Krivit,  Fingerman  &  Yam  Who?  Along  with  a  growing  global  fan  base  across  social  media  by  those  who  just  love  to  Disco.    

Chewy  Rubs  continues  to  deliver  a  steady  stream  of  new  Original  material  with,  of  course,  the  edits  he  built  his  name  on.  New  tracks  have  been  steadily  appearing  on  leading  labels  like  Hot  Digits  and  Midnight  Riot  and  are  always  eagerly  anticipated  by  a  growing  number  of  supporting  DJ’s and fans  via  social  media.  

With  original  material  coming  out  via  Fall  From  Grace  Records  and  starting  his  new  label  Bandolier  2018  and  beyond  is  looking  stellar  for  our  furry  friend.
