Guys, we’re back with another Monday cocktail !

This time one of the Schirmchendrink founders, Floloco, honors us with his mixing skills and grabs the shakers for a delicious Mai Tai !

As a kid of the 90s Floloco was into electronic music early on. It was in 2001 when he started to play around with the decks – and didn’t stop ever since. 

His style developed from electronica over House to Deep House and Techno. His Mixes are mellow, well compiled and always build up in a unique flow to take the listener on that famous “journey”. Floloco doesn’t mind to spend weeks for the track selection until he found the perfect match for his mix. 

Playing live he often uses more energized tracks for the peak time and he loves to mix different styles or to enrich his set with classics. 

In August 2015, together with his Belgian friend Bigasti, he founded Schirmchendrink, a quickly growing electronic underground music podcast and soon record label. 

Enough said, we’re sure you gonna like this tasty Mai Tai!

Well-versed duo The Journey gravitate in the melodic techno and progressive house pool, opening things up on musically atmospheric note all while synthesising influences around them. 

Embracing electronic music’s poignant zest, they are delivering studio output supported by pioneers and humble music enthusiasts equally. Built to keep dance-floor hearts full, the Melbourne based producer, DJ and label pair have knelt to electronic devotees on one knee, warming up stages at the iconic Rainbow Serpent Festival, Pitch Music & Arts to Subsonic and Strawberry Fields Festival, while having cemented a solid debut tour in 2018 throughout Europe lined with an envious 8 hour long set at Berlin’s Sisyphos.  

Delivering ammunition for the club and a bunch of cosy-and-warm synths for the afterparty, with labels like Einmusika and Open Records Jacob and Tom have also collaborated with fellow Australian underground peer Pantheon with ‘The Conqueror’ on Dear Deer Records . 

Recent remix roles for singer-songwriter Running Touch on ‘My Hands’ acquired a well-deserved spot on Ministry of Sound ’s Annual 2019, amid remixing for ‘Treaty’ by Yothu Yindi attracting prodigious recognition resulting in The Journey being nominated for Music Victoria & The Age ’s Electronic Artist of The Year. 

As curators of Ugenius Music, the duo pass on their emotive production qualities, signing some of the most impressive local and offshore producers in their sphere.  

At the end of 2019 the boys released their huge singe Chasing featuring Australian vocalist Stace Cadet which has celebrated massive chart success both internationally and nationally. They followed up with two singles on Oliver Koletzki’s imprint “Stil Vor Talent” and Nil’s Hoffman’s “Poesie Musik” respectively which gained an abundance of international support. 

The road ahead derives inspiration from the last year’s vibrant success - musically on some of the world’ most celebrated record labels, amidst stacking shows across the Australian summer and straight to Europe where the pair’s second tour of the region is imminent. Sparrow & Barbossa is a DJ and producer duo formed by the Swiss Bryan Coletta and the Uruguayan Emiliano Haberli.
Bryan is a pianist and comes from a musical family, his father is the legendary guitarist Francis Coletta who worked with artists like Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, and Frank Sinatra among others.
Emiliano was born and raised in a region of Uruguay dominated by African colonials and got widely influenced by what’s called “The Culture Of Candombe”, pure African tribal rhythm coming from the colonialism.
Since a very young age, Bryan has been influenced by soul, jazz, and funk, which he uses now in his creations with his strong capacity of improvisation and versatility. Emiliano moved to Europe 15 years ago where he con- nected with the music, starting to form his style in the electronic music world, making music together with Chus & Ceballos and Joesky (USA).
Together, Bryan and Emiliano form Sparrow & Barbossa, creating a fusion between organic and electronic pro- gressive sounds. Their age difference has a positive influence on both their releases and performance. While Bry- an brings the freshness of modern sounds and melodies, Emiliano fine-tunes the rhythmic part and brings his knowledge built up throughout the years. Globe-trotters, they’re true lovers of ethnic and lost cultures, devoted to transmit this legacy through electronic music.
Sparrow & Barbossa are most known for their track Yeke that charted number 1 on Beatport afro house together with Enzo Siffredi’s remix. Recently they’ve also released Shakara on Radiant which is has been charted by nu- merous top-notch afro-house players.

XYZ and When We Dip present the Selectors series, where we give our family of producers an opportunity to display their prowess behind the decks. Expect unreleased material from across the label collective, as well as classic gems and heady grooves from some of the undergrounds finest heads.

Somelee commands the decks on the latest Selectors in preparation for his debut on TOR. The Ukrainian artist is well known for a lovely melancholic & melodic production style, with recent gems on Radiant and Dawn till Dusk. We're eager to present his A-side ‘Luna’, which is coming out in just a couple days time. Somelee's ever-present backbone of dreamy melodies and blissed out drums set the tone for this hour, and help ease the wait until Luna's release on Friday.
