10 years on from the conception of Outtallectuals in the form of a Facebook community, we're delighted to still be here, finetuning the label's signature sound in a never-ending global creative soup.

Accordingly, 'Liminal Lore' celebrates OUTTA's first decade through a predictably collaborative roster, featuring the label regulars, as well as new contributors such as Bulgarian legends, Ivan Shopov and Theodossii Spassov, cinematic bass producer, Boketto, the deep ambient psychedelic dub techno duo of Arkaean and Unsung I, and POAN, Lo.Renzo's ambient side project with Giacomo Barbari.

The concept of 'Lore' is sonified through the 'old world' influences of the album; through the sounds of nature, bulbul tarang, banjo, g clarinet, darbuka, hang drum, sarangi, slide guitars, violins, flutes & tribal percussions. 'Liminality' is, of course, through the celebration of a shifting decade, an in-between milestone for the label.

Earlier this year Desert Dwellers released their most diverse album in the duo's long career. The Great Mystery was the first full length collaborative project just between the main founders Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, and featured a wide range of styles and aesthetics from downtempo and psychedelic dub to tribal trance to exotic house and techno flavors.

To celebrate the special release, Desert Dwellers have curated an ambitious two-part remix album with a total of 25 contributions from some of the brightest luminaries and rising talents across the underground electronic music landscape. A holobiont is defined as the host plus of all its microbial symbionts, including transient and stable members. All individuals who participate in a particular symbiosis are bionts and the entire organism that is comprised of these bionts is a holobiont. Meaning that essentially everything is a holobiont, because every macro-species lives in symbiosis with some other species. You're a holobiont.
