Some more Mexican music on Quintessentials! This time from long time buddy 4004, another driving force in Mexico and already an established producer with releases on labels like Freerange, Faces, Vicario Ltd or Quintessentials. Mostly doing stuff on his own, Quintessentials 56 features a great collab track with Stuttgart’s Stylus Heat (currently working as Blunted Monks on Philpot). I’m not sure if we find 4004 reasons to like you Gerardo, but there are definitely two: you’re a cool fella and we love your music - simple as that!

London-based Quintessentials continues to chug along. After their 10 year anniversary and impressive 60th release, they've already gone on to release two more EPs with the third one on the way now. Stepping up to the plate this time is NY*AK. The Newcastle-based hardware guru already has an impressive resume of releases under his belt on labels such as Local Talk, Phonica's Karakul and Ninja Tune's Techinicolour imprints. The Vice EP on Quintessentials is another strong outing, featuring everything from sultry vocals on the A1 'After the Sun' to deep and raw Detroit grooves on the title track 'Vice'.

 He has had releases on labels such as House Cookin', Ltd W/Lbl, Crooks & Villains, Salin Records and upcoming release on  Flat White Records. The coming years look very promising for this young producer – you can expect much more to follow!
