Nicemark is a Toronto based project led by Mark Calderone, who writes, records, and produces his music. 

Influenced by soul, psychedelic rock, funk, and hip hop, Nicemark is your invitation to make yourself home at the party!

Music is no longer about following traditions and going through the motions. It’s about personal expression and putting your whole being on the table - a visceral experience that takes listeners through a journey. Let Waves That Stray be your guide.

Although experimental folk-rock may be an apt label for the eclectic sounds of Waves That Stray, the singer/songwriter foundation is clear with Toronto-native Sean MacLean. As a loop station artist, many of his tracks grow from a bedrock of acoustic guitar and vocals, with gauzy electronics shimmering across the surface and beat boxing kicking within the fabric of the tune. The sophisticated marriage of songwriting craft, avant-garde production and quirky, left-of-the-dial rock and pop sensibilities that shine like a flickering beacon forms the adventurous spirit of Waves That Stray.

MacLean has jammed with members of the Flatliners, The Elwins, The Arkells and has shared the stage with Blue Rodeo, DOA, Dokken, IllScarlett and Platinum Blonde , among others. MacLean recently composed and scored a short film documentary, Connections In The Dark. Under various project names, MacLean has released two previous albums. Waves That Stray released its first single, “Creepin’”, in 2016. Produced by Devon Lougheed (Hot Panda, Sidney York) and mixed by Steve Chahley (U.S. Girls, Slim Twig), Waves That Stray self-titled debut album will be released in 2017.
