Obviously preparing us for a Summer of shoulder-swinging debauchery, the Black Jukebox pumps out another set of terrace friendly twonkers for the masses, with Freiboitar and Hurlee taking charge of proceedings for number 23 in the set. "Blew My Mind" and "What's Up" are Freiboitar's offerings; both pumpin', new funky house numbers with intricate sample choppage and wonderful, speaker-teasing mixing and mastering. Hurlee's trax take up side B with "On The Floor" and transforms it into a loopy and fuzzy deep house gem. Finally "Disco Love" revisits another joyful moment of disco and funky house history, adding its own interpretation on a hook that's familiar to anyone that's spent more than a fleeting moment on the dancefloor. Strongest Shir Khan for a while this one pop pickers - don't be late to the party!

The Knocks - Colors (Funky Boy Remix)

I Gemin has been busy this year, contributing to compilations and multi-artist EPs from such labels as ISM, Midnight Riot and Editorial. Here the Russian producer strikes out on his own via what we believe to be his first outing on Slightly Transformed. The title track is a great example of his self-proclaimed "intelligent house" approach, combining woozy, sun-kissed soul, disco and jazz-funk samples with occasional filter trickery, a warming bassline and relaxed (and some would say rubbery) house beats. The slightly bolder and more up-tempo "Easy Love" is similarly groovy, with the producer wrapping punchy horn lines, wah-wah guitars, jazzy horns and occasional female vocal snippets above a more rolling house rhythm.

More outrageous peak time disco juice from Midnight Riot Records. Straight outta Boston we have GMGN aka Ben Adams alongside multi - instrumentalist Chas Bronz who have produced an EP that bridges everything together in terms of disco and starlight boogie, heavily influenced by the Studio 54 heyday but with a clear nod to the current dance floor.

The production is infectious with Ben delivering 5 joints with a loopy, filtered disco-house vibe that will instantly appeal to all the Soundstream & Moodymann aficionado's out there. Party starter Chas also adds some serious Chic-esque guitar licks to opening cut 'That Feelin' & also blesses the hypnotic workout 'Let It Go' that will sure make you move. So don those bell-bottoms pants & platforms shoes and groove all night too!
