Vanessa Bley, daughter of late jazz pianist Paul Bley and pioneer video artist Carol Goss, is best known as front woman for the psychedelic, haze-pop band Beast Patrol, noted Band to Watch by Rolling Stone, and the jazz-noir group Twin Danger, described as "The Sound Of Frank Sinatra Meets The Clash" by NPR. Bley co-wrote and produced Twin Danger's self-titled debut album with saxophonist and guitarist Stuart Matthewman, the co-founder of Sade. The album, released by Decca / Universal Classics, went to number one on the iTunes Jazz Chart and received four stars from Downbeat, leading to an interview on NPR’s All Things Considered and shows around the world. In addition to her two bands and solo records, Bley scores film and art installations, including a recent multi-sensorial perfume installation for International Flavors & Fragrances and Sony Arcade. In 2015 Bley edited the audio for the film Eyes of the Moon, which debuted at the Marfa Film Festival. Most recently, Bley relocated to Santa Ynez, CA where she recently completed another solo record entitled, "Life & Death," inspired by the passing of her father and the move from New York City after 14 years, to Los Angeles. The first single, "Sunset Hangover" premiered 11/11. The full album will be available August 3, 2017.

Vanessa Bley is a NYC and Los Angeles based singer, composer, producer and musician.  She is daughter of jazz pianist Paul Bley and pioneer video artist Carol Goss. In 2010, Bley founded Space Camp Radio, a weekly, online environmentalist and music radio show out of Bushwick, later to be co-hosted with Anthony Marchesi. In 2010, Bley met Grammy winning producer Stuart Matthewman and the two began writing music together, later to be called Twin Danger. In 2012, Bley formed Space Camp Radio Records and released her solo album entitled, Beast Patrol. Shortly after, Bley started performing with Anthony Marchesi (bass), Robert Granata (guitar) and Dave Burnett (drums). In the summer of 2012 the group recorded a collection of Bley’s older material and self-released Fierce & Grateful under the band name Beast Patrol. Rolling Stone noted the group as a Band to Watch which led to performing at Lollapalooza. In 2014, Beast Patrol released their follow-up EP, Unarm Yourself and Twin Danger signed to Universal Classics. In 2015, the Twin Danger released their debut, self-titled album, which went to number 1 on the iTunes Jazz Chart and received 4 stars from Downbeat, leading to an interview on NPR’s All Things Considered. Twin Danger performs live with six members and has played extensively around NYC with trips to Tokyo, Los Angeles and Austin’s SXSW. In addition to the two bands, Bley scores, produces and mixes for various projects. In 2014, Bley scored a perfume installation with long time collaborator Phil Knott for International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) and Sony Arcade. Most recently, Bley edited the audio for the film Eyes of the Moon, premiering at the Marfa Film Fest 2015. Beast Patrol is set to release their third EP in 2016 and Bley is currently working on a follow up solo album to her 2012 release. Twin Danger is also currently writing a new album.
