The latest entry into Toy Tonics ' catalogue of fine house and techno-leaning releases comes courtesy of label mainstays Rhode & Brown. Snabsnus marks the duo’s fourth release (and third EP) on the Berlin-based imprint, which fans of new era deep house should surely be familiar with at this point.. The EP builds on the aesthetic of their previous release, Tunnel Woman, incorporating heady samples and synth work with both vintage feel and new era stylo.

With gusto, Bolting Bits brings you the premiere for the A1 track on the release. “St Hippolyte” is a moody, pensive joint built on dark, hazy synths and a funky breakbeat. Ultimately, the track climaxes via a thick, acid-inspired riff that leads the arrangement almost to its close. The track, much like the EP, is a clear reflection of the duo’s production approach; an amalgamation of analogue hardware and samplers.

Will Saul and Tee Mango continue the Primitive Trust EP series with their third release. ‘Little Love EP’ is a blissful 3 track package featuring a Floorplan remix. ‘Little Love’ builds warm harmonies driven by syncopated bass grooves whilst Tee Mango’s Dub of 'Tejon' heads for the sun with radiant, shuffling chords. For the remix, Floorplan delivers unrestrained rapture on a peak time roller full of cathartic vocal bursts.

Detroit’s Alton Miller has been in the game for the past three decades coming up alongside luminaries Derrick May, Chez Damier and the late Frankie Knuckles and releasing material on the likes of Peacefrog, Moodymann’s Mahogany Music, Theo Parrish’ Sound Signature and Clone amongst others. Suffice to say, Miller stands as an extremely important figure in the history of authentic, soul-drenched house music.
Title-track ‘A Says Hello’ opens the package and as expected we’re treated to an elegant slice of house infused with a flawless musicality as multi-layered synth chords, pads and swells intertwine alongside dusty drum samples. ‘Cool But So…’ follows, embracing an Acid-Jazz feel with broken, organic rhythms, sweeping pads and warm chord progressions throughout.
Mule Musiq artists Chaos In The CBD step up to rework ‘Cool But So…’ next, adding their own spin to things via warbling Rhodes licks, bright chord sequences, a wandering bass line and an insistent organic drum groove. ‘Below The Underdog’ then rounds out the package perfectly with gritty bass hits, tension building synth swells and a rugged, bumpy drum groove.

Before now Jad & The has served up tracks of the year (‘Strings That Never Win’ - Mixmag 2017), fronted four piece live act Mitzi—who played alongside the likes of Nile Rodgers—and also produced as Jad & The Ladyboy, all the while picking up fans like Moxie and Bradley Zero. Sonar Kollektiv and Toy Tonics have put out his charming sounds before and this new one is another joyous offering.

The feel good ‘2 Getha (4 Eva Mix)’ kicks things of with old school drum breaks and loved-up vocals. Big smeared pads, a new age melody and classic bassline line finish it off and carry you away to summery house heaven. .

London’s FYI Chris joined Toy Tonics!

After releases on Rhythm Section, Church and West Friends the 2 DJs, producers and record shop dons from London/ Peckham chose the German Toy Tonics label for their next release. 
The guys know what’s fresh in club culture. They’ve been store managers at one of London’s coolest record stores: Rye Wax/ Peckham for the last 2 years. And they are becoming one of the most interesting names of the post-house scene of London.
Their first encounter with Toy Tonics was through label boss Kapote. They quickly realized that there are big similarities in their musical vision and way how dance music should develop... so what makes more sense to make an EP together?

So here it comes: FYI Chris next level electronic funk music! MPC style.
