Based in Washington, DC, USA, TonalTheory is a duo producer/DJ, striving to bring their take on the seamless fusion of powerful, high-energy techno soundscapes and percussions with an homage to their classical backgrounds, which aims to show their versatility and vision that captivates any listener in their core.

With numerous releases, both local and International, under their belt, the duo launched their own label, Undertone, in 2021 with a mission to cultivate their signature high-energy techno sounds while bending genre boundaries in the scene and it hopes to serve as a platform for like-minded producers to showcase their artistry. Some of the recent releases on the label have generated support from some of the biggest names in the industry, which has been a testament to their keen talent and vision.

Their hard work in the studio producing cutting-edge and forward thinking techno has earned them the spot to join the catalog of some of the industry’s notable labels, including Confidential Movement EP on Say What?, Avoid The Light EP on SINDEX, Obscure Horizon EP on Ōtomo as well as many other single releases on labels such as SUBSTANTIV, T Sessions, GRF Black, Rated Records, and many more. Their work has also been recognized and featured by Washington Post, EDM Identity, and XTINA, which added to their success as producers on the rise.

Performing everywhere from warehouse raves to clubs and festivals, their DJ sets have been signified by relentless and hard-hitting techno yet taking the dance floor on a cathartic journey, which has left lasting and impactful impressions in every city they have played for across the United States. They are currently the residents of Washington DC’s leading techno and trance project team, Synthesis, and co-founder of Decibel Collective. They have also played support for some of the biggest names in the industry of both techno and trance alike including Caravel, Julia Govor, Sara Landry, ØTTA, Dubfire, Indira Paganotto, Tapefeed, John Askew, Greg Downey, David Rust, Christopher Lawrence, Alan Fitzpatrick, Nicole Moudaber, Green Velvet, Laidback Luke, Sharam, and Victor Calderone, which has helped solidify their presence in the scene as the artist to look out for.

James, better known as Amuck, is a producer and DJ based in Los Angeles. For the better part of the last decade, Amuck has been pushing the boundaries of Techno. He has played some of the biggest shows in the underground scene, including ReForm, Dirty Epic, and Technoids. Additionally, he has released original music and remixes internationally on record labels such as Physical Techno Recordings, M:31, and Denso Records.

One of Amuck's first releases was a remix collaboration with Chemtrailz for Ayako Moris' "Gegen Dungeon." The remix was featured on Charlotte De Witte's livestream for DJ Mag's Top 100 as she celebrated her No. 1 spot for the second year in a row.

Amuck is a multidisciplinary artist who expresses himself through a vast array of creative skills, including graffiti, photography, video editing, and graphic design. All of these skills come together under the alias Indstrl Raw.

Amuck Indstrl has had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest artists in the scene through his various lines of work. Some of these artists include I HATE MODELS, METARAPH, SARAH STRANDBERG, KILL YOUR IDOLS, COMMON POETRY, MORSURE, SAVE ME, DEMEK, AYAKO MORI, CHEMTRAILZ, TONAL THEORY, LUIS

- This is my first release, and with it, I want to share not just music, but an honest part of myself.
I didn’t follow any rules or stick to a specific genre while creating it—I simply let my thoughts, emotions, and sonic obsessions speak for themselves. Every sound here was crafted with the intention of gradually shaping what will become my sound, my identity.

This project is the first step on a path that’s just beginning. I know there’s still a lot to improve, but I also know that everything you hear here was made with passion, dedication, and a fully self-taught process.

More music will come this year, but this EP… this one is special.
Thank you for listening. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.


- Es mi primer lanzamiento y con él quiero compartir no solo música, sino una parte honesta de mí. No seguí reglas ni géneros al componerlo; simplemente dejé que mis pensamientos, emociones y obsesiones sonoras hablaran por sí solos. Cada sonido está con la intención de acercarme poco a poco a lo que será mi sonido, mi identidad.

Este proyecto es el primer paso de un camino que apenas comienza. Sé que hay mucho por mejorar, pero también sé que todo lo que está aquí lo hice con pasión, con dedicación y desde un aprendizaje completamente autónomo.

Este año vendrá más música, pero este EP... este es especial.
