Ben McEwan

Ben McEwan (born October 1986 in Ashford Kent, United Kingdom) is an unsigned singer songwriter who plays alternative pop. Set up his own Recording Studio 2009 to record and Produce his Debut album “Deny the Day”

Born in Ashford Kent Ben grew up in Marbella in spain, listened to pop music, but it was not until the age of thirteen that his talent for playing the guitar came to light, when a family friend gave him an old recording of a Cream album, Ben discovered Blues and learned how to play the guitar. After 2 years of practice, he started playing with local bands and other artists that we gigging around Spain. While in high school, he was in a band called Blackout.

After playing the guitar for several years, McEwan enrolled in a music course in spain called the “Music Factory” which gave him a broader outlook in Composing and Writing. Soon after this McEwan moved to Manchester to enroll on the Popular Music Performance Course at City College graduating with honors.

He decided that rather than further his education in Uni he would open a Recording Studio to get a more hands on experience. He also runs a successful function band that plays to a wide variety of private and corporate clients, including Virgin Medias Christmas Conference. With this band he has also been given the opportunity to play on stage with celebrities like Kim Marsh, Richard Fleeshman, Feeder to name a few.

With such an explosive start to his music career as an artist Ben promises to be an act not to forget, by playing real gigs with real musicians (no backing tracks). To accomplish this he has assembled a 7 piece band with a mixture of acoustic and Electric instruments ranging from Double Bass - Keys.

With genre breaking music drawing from all sorts of disparate avenues of inspiration, they create mesmerizing live performances filled with unexpected mashups, storytelling, costumes, and breathtaking video content,  giving their audiences a sumptuous feast for the senses that never fails to shock, titilate, and amaze.

A two man metal project led by the venerable guitarist (and for this particular work, bassist and vocalist) Mike Hickey (who also made a name for himself in such projects and groups as Venom, Cronos, Carcass, Cathedral, Altered Dominance, and the Hounds of Hasselvander) Goatreign released their first EP, a self titled affair, in 2007. Critically well received, Goatreign (Hickey and drummer Shawn Progen) explored a plethora of different metal styles. The project was signed to Wabana Records.
