Really interesting piece, I like how well you keep it interesting. It fluctuates so much that it's hard to believe the song is under three minutes. Solid work overall, especially if these synth sounds were all made by you.

Nice layered opening. Loved the synth solo entrance with a little trance/oriental sound to it. If you made all the sounds yourself-kudos to you my friend! Very interesting and a great variety! It really never repeats too often that you think you're hearing the same thing again, so awesome at keeping our engagement throughout!

whole things is groovy af, the kick drum really punches which is sick. there's a hint of some old school video game music coming through too which is a good touch.

I really enjoy your sounds. Very house style.To me, it seemed like you had a style similar to what you hear in a lot of mainstream electronic nowadays, which is fine, but you kind of strayed away from it as the song progressed which I enjoyed as well.

A lot of variety to this piece. It stands very well compositionally. I also enjoyed the constant Kick/Snare giving it a house/dance/techno side.

Love it all falls away to that one synth there. Massive is a great synth. Love how you used it for most everything.

whoa this is awesome! I really liked the fact that you made this DJ friendly with the 4 on the floor bookends to either side of the piece haha. In the middle i just kept waiting for someone to yell "ARRREE YOUUU READDDYYYY TOOO RUUUUUMMMBBLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEE" haha that would have been sweet. But yeah great work man.

Parallax Records Live Session Ep. 1 - ft SJOD and Mason Gaudet (Electric Preacher)

So basically this is a track I made in two solid days using ableton. I used massive and a bit of tyrell to make the synth sounds, and layered a decent amount of samples for the kick sound. I used a lot of audio automation, especially the autofilter, reverb, and ping pong delays effects.  I really tried to emphasize the big synth sound at around 35-1 minute in by creating a sonic buildup using a reverse clap with white noise. I grew a little inspiration from mord fustang and with some help of some youtube videos and a lot of tweaking created an awesome sounding synth in massive. I made it even bigger by layering in  a sub base  and more low to middle frequencies. At the end of the track I tried to emulate somewhat of a square bass groove coupled with random clave hits and multiple delays, reverse sounds/ and white noises  with reverbs. All in all I worked pretty hard on this and I hope you enjoy the piece.

This is a live recording of my opening set to celebrate my good friend Treavor Moontribe's 50th birthday. The evening took place at a Moroccan-themed restaurant in Hollywood, and Treavor played a 4-hour set after mine, so we were able to really dial in the flow. 

I've been collecting some tasty slow house music in the last few years without any real place to play them, and this set gave me a chance to flex that muscle a little, toward the end of the set. I had fun with it.
