This Is Our Time welcomes & embraces Dj Chrysalis from Melbourne into its ranks with a tight hug upon his new EP, 'Just Passing Through'. For this release, Chris' mantra was 'the garden is in charge, we're just passing through', consequently, it's not merely an invitation to dance, but to a cheerful escape from the urban hustle.

The EP opens with 'Breathe', a meditative pacesetter that, right from the start, encourages you to embrace being the instrument of the notes and rhythm flowing through you. A playful backbone for any cleverly constructed dj set. We follow it up with the happy-go-lucky stomper that is 'The Day After Techworld', imagining a stroll along the banks of the Yarra River with this one, making our way to an after-party for Melbourne tech-heads.

As we reach the B-side, we aim for the higher state of minds with 'Babycake.' Fluttering breaks and dominant acidic pads balance amidst the heavy dripping of sound drops. This is the last dance of the dawn, knock the chip out of your third eye. After our dance, we are closing our garden gate with 'Overthunk (Big Dub Blub)' a reverb-drunk dubby trip, where we lie down on the grass and listen to fuzzy bird calls answering strings plucked underwater.

Oracool, a Ukrainian label currently operating from Berlin, is releasing its first compilation, "Sins".

Oracool started in 2017 as a party series in Kyiv. Back then, its founder, music producer and dj Adelina (Banoffee Pies Records) got together with some friends to throw a party. Gradually, a close-knit community gathered around the project. The events of the last two years have disrupted Oracool’s activities in Ukraine. Today, its community is scattered over the world, yet it remains connected as ever.

In 2024, Oracool transformed into something more than just an event - Adelina registered the eponymous record label with an intent to release musical prophecies featuring Ukrainian and international artists, with a focus on supporting musicians at risk.

The imprint’s debut release is a compilation named "Sins". It’s a tribute to the Oracool’s friends, and those who have been upholding its community from the very beginning. The compilation brings together tracks from various artists from around the globe, with a special focus on Ukrainian young talents.

The 13 tracks compilation is dedicated to the exploration of broken sound. All tracks are united by an essence of loud and insightful dance rhythm, amplified by an otherworldly layer of mystical melodies. The record is saturated by foolproof tight grooves, making it a perfect tool for keeping the dance floor engaged. It’s a special collection of Electro, Bass, and Techno that marks a new beginning for the Oracool imprint.

Featured on the record are prominent figures of the Ukrainian scene, including Bite Records , Standard Deviation and ∄ resident, Nastya Vogan, reknown producer and rave legend Koloah, founder of Strila Artists agency - Travis or Alice, Polygon Records affiliate SVZZ, pioneer of Ukrainian electro sound Radiant Futur, vinyl connoisseur Rustam, rising star from the depths of Carpathians - Cristopher Bo, founder of Nowa event series Ewa Nomad, as well as a promising newcomer - offgridn3ss, and, of course, Adelina herself.

Additionally, the release highlights the co-founder of the ДРОБ collective and event series, German sound artist and producer N.Y.N, Inken, UK-born, Berlin-based maestro of old-school production techniques Aezron, as well as up and coming Egyptian producer 5amaseen, influenced by mahraganat and folkloric music of the Arab world.

The compilation will be available on all platforms on June 1st.

Al Groove - an upbeat number with a gloomy twist as our hero (Al) descends into the caverns below. Imagine yourself speeding through the wilderness of a magical faraway land on your custom pimped out kart driving to the beat of the music. Life is good, life is great, life is EXCELLENT, until you find yourself at the entrance to the Cavern of Death, the place your elders told you to never go. Do you stop? No! You would never, for you are AL GROOVE, the keeper of the funk. As you pass through the spooky paths under ancient trees covered in moss and webs, you never lose focus of your destination. You and your slamming bass guitar keep the pesky scoundrels scattered along the journey at bay until finally you reach the other end.

An explosion, a relief! You're unstoppable now. Oh Yeah Baby! More challenges await you but you know you have the power to tackle anything life throws your way. You, motherfucker, are Al Groove, the keeper of the funk, and you've got a job to do.
