Pure Space Records welcomes a newly emerging Naarm producer, Dividens with his EP ‘Blueprints’. Across four tracks Dividens masterfully guides us through the fringes of modern drum n bass, eerie Dub and restrained Jungle styles.

Starting strong, ‘Audio Blueprint’ provides a fast and erratic baseline cushioned only by a deep, squelching synth. It’s a textural and delicately refined track, with each sound finding its perfect place with twisted effect.

The ascension of Viers is well charted, and having already played a part in that indomitable sonic crusade we once again submit to his gripping vibrations as he distils them into safe and consumable formats distinguishable to the human ear. The man is untethered and the tunes are disrespectful. We are unapologetic. 6 tracks and no punches pulled, the bruising of egos and maybe some self-assuredness is at hand. He didn't give much away, his mouth said one thing and his eyes another. She couldn't work out if this was just in his character or if he just had no interest in communicating with her; either way it intrigued her to no end, she wanted to get to the bottom of it. Rather than deter her, his dark eyes and his icy stare drew her further in. There was something behind it, a story that needed to be told, and she wanted to be the one to hear it...

Hard at work since 2008, Egyptian producer Hassan Abou Alam has shared his musical fruits with the world via labels like Rhythm Section, Naive and Banoffee Pies, which explore and blur the borders between breakbeat, techno and bass. For his next outing, he lands on Rinse resident Roni's Nehza Records with a new four-track EP called Ice, that once again showcases his versatility as a producer. Crafted using a mixture of analog and digital gear, the resulting tracks are packed full of textural sounds, meticulous drum work, fx saturated vocals and squelchy bass.

The Lyon-based DJ and producer Hyas perceives and feels the dancefloor with a pure, sensitive and brainy wisdom, and this is where he makes a difference. This 8-tracks tape out on 99CTS is an absolute ride, crossing bass music interludes and breaks-and-jungle textures. Out Of This World breaks into an otherworldly universe, which the flawless analog grain is sound shaping this 8-tracks odyssey. Hyas has a rare gift for making mind-bending patterns as danceable as it is striking, that entirely blow you all the way long. This tape rises a progressive fiction, between collapse and grace, where juke, drum & bass, dubstep, UK garage and juke composed only ring a bell : the dancefloor call.

HYAS - "OUT OF THIS WORLD" (99CTS_013) - PREVIEWS

Nerve Collect co-founder Gamma Intel follows up label partner Identified Patient's inaugural release with his thrilling E.M. EP. Across six club-ready cuts, the Dutchman explores the spaces where bass, techno, electro and acid all intersect. E.M. is available in digital and physical 12'' format.

On the A side 'Little Mirror Man' opens up with an elastic but thumping broken beat. A flurry of jungle drums rain down next to scratched metal stabs, bleep-techno melodies and all underpinned with heavy bass rumbles. 'Save Pair of Hands' doesn't let up, with knick-snapping hits and earth-shattering bass weight. As heavy as the groove might be, there is still plenty of room for deft synth designs to bring plenty of emotion. On '5AM-SBM' you are tugged in many directions at once - nimble drums dart about beneath prickly percussion and flaming hits that have a mind of their own. Although the low end is distorted, the details up top are well-defined and given plenty of space to make their mark.

The flipside takes off on turbocharged techno-electro fusion 'Sleep and Cry.' It's a devastating and visceral drum track that also packs an emotional punch as celestial chords suspend you at the doors of heaven. 'Panthera Leo' soundtracks the end of the world as acid lashes about amidst controlled but unrelenting drum chaos and finally, the drilling bass and frantic drum programming of 'Trust' is another all-powerful club track. Its dark energy sucks you in for a white-knuckle ride to remember.

This EP finds Gamma Intel pulling off plenty of unusual tricks and twists on his way to conquering the dance floor.
