They got this place two blocks past the post office, I want to say it’s downtown. A red rooster’s painted over the front door. Or maybe a hammer. You know the bar? Wood floors, big speakers. I don’t remember the gig. I don’t remember much of anything really, just me and the band and all these people asking if we need another drink. You’d say no thanks and find the shot already in your hand. My kind of people. Last night in Little Rock put me in a haze!! Ha ha. That jukebox was going all night, playing all the hits. We must’ve taken something, right? A dozen rounds deep but nobody felt tired. Nobody fought, nobody puked. We just danced. There’s a picture of me and the bartender hugging and crying, a real powerful image. One of those nights where you could yell anything and get a laugh. So we yelled.
