"Every journey creates a new sound." This is the mantra of Berlin-based record label Einmusika -- a label that's been capturing the stories and sentiments of artists for nearly a decade. Samuel Kindermann, better known as Einmusik is the man behind the machine. Fusing raw, melancholic and fervent sounds to create productions that are remarkably emotive, Einmusik is a true master of his craft. 

At moments you can hear influence from his early days of producing Drum n' Bass, with quick, intricate breakbeats before melting into a soft, melodic daze. Each transition resounds with mindful fluidity, making an Einmusik set a journey within its own. Thus, we couldn't be more thrilled to invite Einmusik today, as he takes over the decks for our 25th episode of the Godzilla Disco Podcast.

Every now and then, life calls us to slow down. To halt the plans, thoughts and responsibilities clouding our minds. To take a moment of silence. To close your eyes. To breath deeply. As summer slows its pace, the cosmic energy invites us into a deeper state of reflection. Thus, we were thrilled when Toronto artist Sam Zenn approached us with the idea to create an exclusive ambient set.

“Life can be very challenging at times,” he explained. “It’s great to have a chill and uplifting sound to lay back, relax and/or meditate with, especially since nothing connects stronger with our true inner beings other than music… food for the soul!”

Sam Zenn needs little introduction. As a DJ, he is a true chameleon, adapting to any dance floor put before him. His rich, hypnotic sound and technical dexterity behind the decks makes him stand out amongst fellow peers. The only attributes that shine brighter than his skill set are his warm, genuine demeanour and humble stance. It’s no wonder that many of the country’s top venues have booked Sam, including Toronto’s Footwork and CODA, Vancouver’s Gorg-o-mish and Celebrities, and festivals like Bestival Toronto and Vujaday in Barbados. So without further ado, we invite you unfold a blanket in the grass, connect with nature, and entrust in this conscious journey with Sam Zenn.

Having begun her love affair with the underground in 2002, after stumbling into an after-hours in Berlin, Jenner immediately knew that she'd found her soul's connection. Her sound is one that envelops a room entirely. Brimming with deep, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, hypnotic melodies, and carefully selected vocals, Jenner delivers memorable sets. I’ve had such a crazy opportunity to play a wide variety of genres of music, some of which I never even thought INSEADers would respond to, let alone rave all night to. The openness of you all to explore new styles outside your normal comfort zones with us has been really heart-warming, and I will carry so many fond memories of our gigs with me - I hope we get to play for you all again one day!

This mix follows my INSEAD journey, from the highs of meeting everyone in P1 to the lows of the darker times during the year. Every track I’ve included in this mix is attached to a very specific memory from this year (if you’re interested, feel free to ask me about individual tracks!).
