A collaborative composition by Clara de Asís and Rebecca Lane deriving from a series of encounters and explorations throughout different times, spaces and forms.

Distances Bending is an ever-expand­ing pro­cess — a build­ing up, dis­tilling, and mir­ror­ing of mater­i­als par­tic­u­lar to each artist, respond­ing to and inhab­it­ing a space over mul­tiple hours or days. A repeated time struc­ture, a tem­por­al loop that is altered through upwardly evolving ration­ally-tuned fre­quen­cies, vari­ous flutes (whose size, timbre and shape cor­res­pond to these fre­quen­cies), elec­tron­ics, and chan­ging light, the piece cre­ates a subtle space where per­cep­tion is transformed.

This mix is an experiment of sounds patched together to express urgent solidarity with the Palestinian people of Gaza. Throughout this mix are original interviews, never before broadcast, of people actively working, creating and organizing in different corners of the world to support the Palestinian struggle for freedom. Also we hear original mixes and musical contributions.

Open eyes for Gaza

"I want my legs back," the girl cried in Arabic.
"I want my legs back."

You can't have your legs back, little girl.
They have been eaten by a hungry machine
who needs them for fuel to power its gears.
The machine needs your legs to keep the sky raining bombs
and to make its death robots fly.
Your legs power the bulldozers digging mass graves
and the tanks blowing holes in the hospitals.

A glorious kingdom is held together
by the amputated limbs of children.
A pentagon-shaped castle is built from the bones
of the amputated limbs of children.
Wall Street werewolves and bank boys dine
on the amputated limbs of children.
Movie stars treat their wrinkles with creams
made from the amputated limbs of children.
Suburban families prop up their smiles
with the amputated limbs of children.
The news man lies and in his eyes
you see the amputated limbs of children.
The podium man smirks and between his teeth
are the amputated limbs of children.

And the little girl cries,
and the news man ignores her,
and the podium man smirks at her,
and the bank boy bites her,
and the machine rolls on,
limbs fed into its furnace with pitchforks,
crushing houses and blackening the sky,
poisoning the oceans and bloodying the earth,
while the air fills with the crying of children,
for limbs that will never come back,
for homes that will never come back,
for mothers that will never come back,
for childhoods that will never come back,
for brightness that will never come back,
for innocence that will never come back,
for dreams that will never come back,
for joy that will never come back.

And we are here,
eating cheesy meatcarbs and watching funny haw-haws
and gossiping and prattling and wishing we looked better
and trying not to think about all the tiny arms and legs
we see covering the earth
whenever we step outside.

This EP emerges as the latest drop from VūMantra Records, a collaboration between Vū and Nigh/T\mare, well known for their dark and abyssal deep productions. Within its confines, a sonic landscape unfolds, blending gritty industrial beats with ritualistic undertones. Across four tracks raw visceral energy pulsates, each piece imbued with its own distinct vibe. The first track “Portale” by Nigh/T\mare sets the mood with an orchestra of merciless percussion and faint melodies. It is followed by Vū’s “Cruda” which accelerates the tempo, playing frenetic Arabic percussions on odd rhythms surmounted by his eerie voice echoing in the distance. To complete the EP the 2 artists remix each other’s tracks adding darkness to already pitch-black canvases. From haunting melodies to bone-rattling basslines, a mind-altering journey through the depths of the underground tribal beats awaits.

Nigh/T\mare

A malevolent obscurity is followed by a sentimental melancholy drifting towards a deep journey into the introspection and the subconscious. It constantly emerges into the horrific and ritualistic soundscape of cryptic techno, of ancient tribal images, and of industrial dystopian visions, all melancholy is then shattered for having embraced evilness.
Giuseppe Sciretti, better known as Nigh/T\mare Alias, is an Italian DJ, producer, and live performer who is based in Puglia (South Italy). In 2017, he released a solo EP on the Bulgarian label DVNTT, and the following year, he made his vinyl debut with "Hypnagogia" on Thrènes records after also releasing music on labels like Several Minor Promises, Voidance, Depth Request, Borders Of Known, Blame Rec, VūMantra Records. In 2021, he released his first 2x12" album, "Katharsis," on the label that is now called Thrènes, and in 2022, he released "Ceremony" on Forbidden Teachings, which led to numerous collaborations with international musicians like Pact Infernal, Torn Relics, Alexey Volkow, LAIR, Prophàn, Killawatt, and many others.

Vū
Vince Gagliardi, better known by his stage name Vū, is a music producer of ethnic electronic music and experimental dark techno from Berlin. His style has been compared to artists like Muslimgauze, Tzusing and Demdike Stare. 
He is also the founder of the label “Vūmantra Records”, co-founder of the label “Modern Bön” and creator of the audiovisual project “The Nent” (Cyclic Law), well-known for its impactful A∖V live performances. Vū´s performances focus on an immersive experience creating endarkening rhythms for dystopic sub-cultures. His voice fuses with drum machines and is accompanied by live percussion, which pulls the audience into the present moment and creates a shamanic vibe.
Some of Vū’s tracks have been released on Pact Infernal’s label "Altar", Borders of Known (GE), Dark Alchemy (UK), Voidance (DE), Elektro Tribe (DE), Furanum Records (DE), Area Z (FR) and more.
In the past few years, Vū has performed live at clubs and festivals such as OHM Berlin, KitKatClub, About Blank, Mensch Meier ( with the Queer techno label SUBVERTED ), and Lunchmeat Festival 2020 ( see link below) , where he was the opening act for SOPHIE’s last ever performance.
