Nicely presented Caitlin especially considering the ongoing physical attack on Julian Assange. However, are we truly mobilizing our strengths together interactively, or just mirroring MSM in a propaganda-war? I'm always surprised at how disconnected calls for right-of-expression or 'Freedom-of-the-Press' in monologues are from the reality of 'dialogue'. i.e. the Right to express information is always tied to the reciprocal right of those impacted by our information to demand an engaged responsive dialogue. All humanity's worldwide 'indigenous' (Latin 'self-generating') ancestors ensured 'Council-Process' or the dialectic right for all to call for Council with anyone they felt impacted by. Of course there are procedures, checks & balances. Generally Council was ensured at every level of human association. from family, friend, associate, ~100 (50-150) personMultihome (eg. Longhouse-apartment, Pueblo-townhouse & Kanata-village). city, region, nation, confederacy & continental councils.

A little flock of Whooper Swans, arrived a few days ago, one hour after sunset at Rengaskari Reef one mile from our home shore.  The sea is frozen a long way out, but by the shallow waters of the reef there's a small piece of free water.  The picture is by sunset as I leaved the mics on the reef.

We're in the final countdown to British Home Secretary Priti Patel's decision on the fate of Julian Assange, with the WikiLeaks founder's extradition to the United States due to be approved or rejected by the end of the month. Joe Lauria has a new article out with Consortium News on the various pressures that Patel is being faced with from both sides of this history-making issue at this crucial time.

And I can't stop thinking, as this situation comes to a boil, about how absurd it is that the US empire is working to set a precedent which essentially outlaws information-sharing that the US doesn't like at the same time western news media are full of hand-wringing headlines about the dangerous threat of "disinformation".

It makes me nervous too. Especially when we've got a steadily escalating proxy war which the standoff in Lithuania could easily see spin out into a direct hot war between Russia and NATO powers, and when we hear the UK's top army general telling troops to prepare for World War Three.

People Don't Think Hard Enough About What Nuclear War Is And What It Would Mean

All of our world's worst problems are created by the powerful. The powerful will keep creating those problems until ordinary people use their superior numbers to make them stop. Ordinary people don't use their superior numbers to stop the powerful because the powerful are continuously manipulating people's understanding of what's going on. 

Humans are storytelling creatures. If you can control the stories humans are telling themselves about the world, you control the humans, and you control the world. 

Mental narrative plays a hugely prominent role in human experience; if you've ever tried to still your mind in meditation you know exactly what I'm talking about. Babbling thought stories dominate our experience of reality. It makes sense then that if you can influence those stories, you're effectively influencing someone's experience of reality.

The powerful manipulate the dominant narratives of our society in approximately five major ways: propaganda, censorship, Silicon Valley algorithm manipulation, government secrecy, and the war on journalism. Like the fingers on a hand they are distinct from each other and each play their own role, but they're all part of the same thing and work together toward the same goal. They're all just different aspects of the US-centralized empire's narrative control system.

Fox News's fabulously popular right wing pundit Tucker Carlson has ratcheted up his show's anti-China propaganda yet again, introducing his interview with Brazil's rightist president Jair Bolsonaro with a psychotic rant against Beijing that, were it about Moscow, would have looked perfectly at home among even the most demented mainstream liberal punditry at the height of Russiagate hysteria around 2018.

Before attempting to help Bolsonaro reverse his abysmal polling against his left-wing opponent Lula da Silva in a presidential election this coming October, Carlson led with the completely unevidenced claim that "China has been busy with its own agenda—taking over the world."
