F.I.O.F.O

This one came from watching "Destination Unknown" and getting completely fascinated by the idea of finding Anne Bonny's treasure. The show got me digging deep into her story, and the more I learned, the more I realized her real treasure wasn't gold - it was her absolute refusal to be controlled by anyone.

Here's this Irish woman who had everything handed to her - plantation wealth, arranged marriage, comfortable life - and she threw it all away to become a Caribbean pirate. That takes serious guts. But what really hooked me was learning about her partnership with Mary Read and how they were often the only ones willing to fight when Calico Jack's crew got cornered.

The song builds through her whole journey, but that courthouse moment is what sealed it for me. When they're about to hang her and instead of begging, she looks at those men and says "If you fought like a man, you wouldn't hang like a dog!" That's pure defiance in the face of death.

When AI helped me create the track, that breakdown where the music cuts to silence before her voice delivers that line came out perfect. It captures what I was feeling watching that show - this woman's treasure wasn't buried somewhere, it was her unbreakable spirit.

Sometimes the best songs come from getting lost in a TV show and finding something way deeper than you expected.

Thanks to everyone who checked out both cuts of this track. After the first wave of feedback, it’s clear that the Raw Circuit version hit the hardest — so this is the one that lives on as Darker Than Normal. Inspired by revisiting my older track Nobody, this is me exploring the darker, industrial-core side of my music. I’ll also be working on a Halloween track in the same style, so keep an eye out 👀.
