Roam Records label boss Jason Peters is back with a new EP of psychedelic Italo inspired originals. The EP opens with What Are You Saying - a mid-tempo chugger featuring Jason’s voice drifting over arpeggiated bass lines and electronic melodies with a bit of vocoder splashed in. The title track, Little Cages picks the tempo up with a pulsating thematic drive. The EP is backed by remixes from Zillas on Acid and Club Tularosa. Zilla’s is up first with a gorgeous dubbed-out version or What Are You Saying. Club Tularosa takes on the title track and brings fun with an upbeat bassline and uplifting melody.

PREMIERE: Jason Peters - What Are You Saying (Zillas On Acid Remix) [ROAM]

Forthcoming on the interesting Beatservice Records, a small Tromsø-based kitchen table label focused on releasing high-quality Norwegian electronic music, the stunning 10-track album by skilled DJ and producer Øivind 'Kohib' Sjøvoll: “Today's Tales Of Tomorrow” is a genre-defying journey through the many an influence of the artist, presenting both trippy introspective cuts and exciting dance-floor oriented themes. The beautiful collaboration of the singers Lydia Waits and Helle Larsen cannot go unmentioned: Equally talented, their emotive and melodic vocals simply bring the LP to another level.

The track we were solicited to review/premiere, “It's Never Late In Neon Signs”, depicts Kohib flirting with his Synthpop and French House references. Partnering for the assignment with enigmatic songstress Lydia Waits, Kohib ingeniously combines dazzling arpeggios and rhythmic synth layers with a pulsating bassline and an accurate vocoder intervention to deliver one of the best tunes of the album. The retro-futuristic aura is intense but not tiresome because it sounds something unquestionably fresh and modern.

My Secret Agenda (@mysecretagenda) jumps into 2023 introducing a new artist. Matteo Miele (@user-661679779) is a vintage sounds and machines lover, and he comes with two tracks shaped on delicate atmospheres, evolving slowly and combined with minimal rhythms and psychedelic soundscapes.

Seagulls is an evocative tune that clearly draws a picture of the sea in our minds, made by natural sounds crafted with synthesizers. Big Beast is instead a slow, little acid breaks monster. Warm, hypnotic and sweetly moving around.

The label then elevates the release adding some remixers, both old guards and new talents. Frankie Vertigo revisits Big Beast turning it into a groovy and housey composition with a sweet and catchy melody, triggering a distinctive vintage and lo-fi atmosphere.

With his remix of Seagulls, Waxman makes the picture of the sea even more clear, building a magic deep progressive voyage, able to support the listener though smooth and emotive soundworlds.

Last but not least, Type-303 (@type-303) remodels Big Beast adding stunning uk rave vibes, backing up the original bassline with spatial chords e resonating noises and adding a funny classic touch to the original.

Half Electric ft. Marvin Jam [Original] is a chunky, stomping, elastic, acid-disco, peak time slow burner, a hefty slab of relentless boogie built around a mysterious and unforgettable classic-rock guitar figure, whiplash cowbells, and a hungry 303 line snaking its way into the mix,
a track aimed directly at the hips. Just as this throb is frothing over, things kick into a streamlined, disco pulse, the saxophone honk joins, and vocalist Marvin Jam intones a scorching soul-blues lament, a glorious build off into the horizon. 
On remix duties is Tirana, Albania-based Uj Pa Gaz, a talented live-electronic musician in his own right with releases on Tici-Taci, Heimlich, Esthetique and more, who goes right for the melodic core of the track,
dropping a Chemical Brothers friendly big broken beat over a perfect marriage of blissed-out synth figures and sunrise arpeggio-pulse, a steady chug bringing the sexy sax back in play. A

Mexican duo Sierra Madre is thrilled to unveil their first EP, "Cumbres". The collaboration project of producers @mijomijo and @colossiomx, offers a unique blend of techno and indie dance, influenced by the stories of Monterrey City, Mexico. The release includes a collaboration with @moiseesduro and a remix by Esprit Divers.

Inspired by the tragic events that took place in “Cumbres” neighborhood, the EP opens with the title track, a dark, hypnotic, and evocative cut. It is followed by "Cadereyta," the name of the prison where the perpetrator of the Cumbres murders serves his sentence. A cut featuring distorted synthesizers and a driving drumbeat.

Next is "Diego," the track in collaboration with Moisees, a sinister, powerful, and gummy jam. To close the release, Esprit Divers' “Cumbres” remix provides a powerful and introspective cut, taking listeners on a journey of groovy self-discovery.
