Oslo label badabing diskos kicks off with a massive dance floor treat from legendary Norwegian producer diskJokke.

Known since 2008 for his international escapades with Prins Thomas's Full Pupp and the Smalltown Supersounds label, diskJokke has also played everywhere from Panoramabar Berlin to Space Ibiza and Liquid Room Tokyo. He has put out three superb long players, remixed indie acts such as Metronomy and The XX and now, after acquiring his Masters in Mathematics, he is back. He has a complex, weird and wonderful take on melodic and cinematic sounds, as proven by this terrific two-tracker.

Opener 'A Little TnT' wastes no time in locking you in on a wave of retro-future synth work while a squelchy bassline twists and turns below. It's an expansive and widescreen sound packed with the sort of melody that makes Scandi-disco so appealing.

The fantastic '90s' then takes you on a magical trip to the edge of the cosmos, with enchanting synth lines and buoyant drums all building to a crescendo. The mood then flips to acid-tinged disco house with warped lines and late-night menace, making for a truly adventurous track.

This is a terrific first EP from what is sure to be an essential new label.

First up, Romain FX returns to the cobbler’s kitchen with ‘Neon Train’, plating up some weapons-grade machine grooves, garnished with hypnotic vocals - guaranteed to whet your appetite. GREETINGS follows up this electrifying entree the introduction of the enigmatic ‘Flavio Zoom’, a cosmic search through robust and considered flavours. Newcomer Sam In Space makes a splash with mid-meal workout ‘Aerobic’, charismatic dark disco with an athletic flair. Things take a turn for the sampladelic with the strange and playful mutant funk of ‘Pre Club’ by Club Sausages, before an all-time classic gets an imaginative Italo rework with ‘The Rhythm’ by Black Feeling. Kayroy teams up with Imogen Cygler for a palette cleansing contemplative chugger ‘Eggna’, with dreamy arpeggios building to a dreamy crescendo, before Pleasure Voyage present final course ‘Return’, a fitting sunset synth-pop soundtrack that’s the bittersweet like the perfect negroni.

Returning to his standard sound and abandoning the tortuous Darkdisco, our cosmic traveller and SEO of the label has prepared 2 cuts of quality Cosmic Disco, enveloping melodies that will make you enjoy and enjoy, with a sound very similar to that of the eighties Netflix series "Strange Things" James generates almost similar atmospheres based on Roland Juno, one of the most characteristic synthesizers in history, and which manages to give a nuance of tension to any melody that you play or process in this synthesizer and our partner James Rod is able to emphasize and control the sound to make it seem so.

The ep is accompanied by a remix only on this occasion and is signed by his partner Aleito, which changes the focus and transports it directly to progressive techno, elegant and forceful with a round and dynamic sound.

Excellent for any DJ with culture that comes to this beautiful content.
